Clock works did amazing work on a pendulum clock and a much loved wall clock. I found them accommodating and reasonable. This shop is the place I will return to with any time piece or clock. Thank you clock works for allowing me toggle my wife a great valentines day gift of her favorite clock telling time again.
I brought in a clock for repair and servicing, but after only a brief look, the owner told me it couldn’t be fixed and immediately offered to buy it for parts. It felt rushed and dismissive. I also asked about swapping a silicone strap on my watch (with deployment clasp) for a metal bracelet I brought in myself, and was quoted between $50 and $75—an egregiously high price for a basic band change I’ve routinely had done elsewhere for under $10.
While there, I looked at some of the vintage watches on display. Many were in questionable condition, yet when I asked about a vintage Seiko, I was told it was priced somewhere between $1,000 and $4,000—a surprising and unjustifiable range given its actual market value is likely $500–$750 at most.
What stood out most, though, was how unwelcome I felt the entire time. Despite being the only customer in the store, the attitude and atmosphere made it clear I wasn’t valued or wanted. I won’t be returning.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate the clarification and understand that perspectives can differ.
To clarify, much of the time spent discussing watches involved pieces you were actively attempting to sell me, which is different from addressing the service-related questions that initially brought me into the shop. My primary concern—the clock repair—was dismissed very quickly, followed immediately by an offer to purchase it for parts. Regardless of missing components, the interaction felt rushed and left little room for diagnostic discussion.
Regarding the vintage Seiko, I should note that I am a collector of vintage Seiko watches, among other brands, and I’m very familiar with their market ranges. While exceptional examples can achieve high outlier prices, presenting a $1,000–$4,000 range for a watch in questionable condition does not align with typical market behavior and understandably raised concerns.
My review wasn’t intended to diminish your expertise, but to share my experience accurately and in good faith. I stand by it and trust that others will read both perspectives and decide accordingly.
Excellent cuckoo repair!
Have an old Schneider 1 day cuckoo that stopped running. Brought it to Clockworks and they quickly repaired our clock. Keeps time to the minute. Great job, also returned clock looking like brand new! Looked polished. Very nice.
The folks at Clockworks are super friendly, knowledgeable of timepieces, clocks, cuckoos.

Nice people, nice store, highest quality cuckoo repair!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I brought my 1890 Ansonia Queen Elizabeth wall clock to Clockworks in Paoli, PA after the chime spring broke. They quoted 2 weeks but had it ready in just one! The movement was fully disassembled, cleaned, and both springs replaced. I received progress photos and a tutorial on proper operation. The craftsmanship and service were outstanding. Highly recommend!
