ABC Floors Inc

We had our floors refinished by ABC the summer of 2021, and have been regretting it every day since. Yes, I should’ve left this review much sooner, but just 2.5 years later our floors have become a daily nuisance to us. At first glance, it appeared that they had brought our 100 old floors (that had spend who know how long covered in carpet) back to life in our new-to-us home, and we were so glad we were able to find someone who could refinish them on such short notice before we moved in. As first time home buyers, we thought this quick availability and the fact that they got the whole house done in just 2 days was a good thing. Now we know those were red flags. Yes, the floors weren’t in the best shape, but we put our trust in the professionals to tell us what should be done. Instead of doing proper repairs in areas that we know now really needed it, they used wood filler in too-big gaps — most of which has since popped out leaving massive gaps and exposed sharp edgers that we, and our dogs, have cut our feet on. On top of that, the actual floorboards have started splitting in several areas. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong here, but I don’t think this should be happening less than 3 years after having the floors completely refinished. And no, these boards were not splitting before being refinished. During the job, they only pointed out one area that needed to be “repaired”, which they did. I much rather would have had them point out more areas I’d they even questioned if they should be repaired vs. patched up with wood filler — which they did not. I genuinely don’t like having to leave a negative review for a local business like this, but we’ve been continuously frustrated with the result of their work for 2 years now. Now we’re already having to look into other options to have these issues fixed before they cause further damage. (Also, I did refrain from leaving a review right after the work was done because they did come back to fix this, but during the job they had a teen boy on-site who kicked a soccer ball into my deck trellis and broke the wood and didn’t tell anyone. I only discovered it was him when looking at my backyard security cameras.)
