I requested a virtual estimate and received one, but when I tried to move forward with the service, I was completely ghosted. I reached out to the company, to Eddie specifically, multiple times with zero response. No callback, no email, nothing.
If you can't be bothered to follow up with a customer who's ready to pay, why are you in business? Save yourself the frustration and go with a company that actually values your time.
Hired Sir Grout for a grouting job two months ago. Multiple sections of grout begin peeling off in strips, so we contact the owner Eddie to understand what happened. He claims he's never seen this issue before, despite many other reviews detailing the same problem. We consult our super who says that because the technician just put new grout on top of the old grout without removing it first, it's all going to fall out eventually. We convey to Eddie that we are aware that he cut corners, as well as our desire for a refund since we now have to hire someone reputable to repair the grout. He acknowledges that the job was not done properly and offers to redo. Having him come back for more shoddy work is not a solution. We reiterate our refund request, but are denied. A business that doesn't stand by its work. We'll be seeing Eddie in court.
Do not use this company. I can save you the deep dive on the reviews. They are quick to respond and schedule, but this is an establishment which certainly does not favor the customer’s feedback. After Sir Grout left my apartment, I had hours of finishing detail and cleanup to do. The techs left me cleaning supplies to do it myself after I pressed them as to why there was still color seal all over the tiles - I was told it needed to dry longer... I paid the full price before realizing just how much work was left to do - they requested a Venmo payment, which is not contestable. This was my mistake, I should have known better. I was offered a small refund “for my trouble.” I left a tip for the techs, as they still worked and deserved to be compensated, and customer service instead used this to say that I am not justified in my complaint. I expect Sir Grout will reply to this response to downplay their culpability, but please note: my experience is a common one with this company and please use another service.
***Update: as expected, this company is prolific with their gaslighting replies to customer reviews - the below reply is an outright lie. Why would a customer ask to do the work they hired? It simply makes no sense. Good luck with Sir Grout - this has been an infuriating experience.
“Sir grout”?? they should be called “Baby grout” !!!
I’m was doing a renovation in my apartment and I hired “Sir Grout” to help me with grouting my bathroom (white 3”x6” subway tile walls), they promised the job will be finished in one day but unfortunately when I came home the next day I saw how bad they left the job site and the grout lines looked so bad I didn’t thought this is how they’ll leave it.
After reaching back to them, they told me how sorry they are and that they will come back to re-grout the whole bathroom again, which caused unnecessary delay to this project.
When they came back for the second time I wasn’t in the apartment, I came back from vacation after a few days and what I heard from other workers who’s working in my apartment is that they just came with sanding paper and started to sand the grout lines and also scratched some of the tiles which cost me extra money to replace them.
I didn’t really like the results so I contacted the salesperson that came on the first time and he agreed with me that the job wasn’t looking good so they came back and actually re-grout the bathroom, which again caused me more delays on the project.
When they came for the third time (it was the same technician every single time), this time I stayed in the apartment to make sure the job will get done properly, the technician wasn’t able to finish in one day and after and he told me that he won’t be able to come back the next day but someone else will be there.
After the technician left I went to see what he did and to my surprise he made damages again on some tiles (he chipped them with his tools) so I emailed the company if someone is going to come back tomorrow because the technician told me (this was on 5pm) and around 11:20pm I received an email that said they won’t be able to send someone for at list a week, I didn’t had a choice and had to pay the other workers in my apartment to do this work for me.
This job was quoted for a few hundred dollars and only one day of work but eventually cost me couple thousands of dollars and major delay on the bathroom project.
I’m really disappointed with what I had to go through with them and asking them for a refund for the poor job they did wasn’t seem reasonable for them.
I am extremely pleased with the results I got in my bathroom from Sir Grout. I was looking for a solution about how to make an original 1951 bathroom tiles and tub look clean and sanitary again without having to completely replace everything. Eddie from Sir Grout came over and proposed a tile restoration process that was both cost and time efficient involving a short day or two to complete. My bathroon still needs other upgrades but against the background of clean tiles and grout, it will look great.
