Beware of bait n switch conversation from the person booking the appointment stating what the initial cost will be. The person arrived late.
Was here less than 15 minutes and determined the root cause was a flame sensor. No problem, replace it right?! Then, proceeds to tell me it will cost over $400 dollars for the work and the part after fixing it. Maybe a $150 max for a job like that. Just my opinion.
I showed him I can buy a three pack of the flame sensors for less than $10 on Amazon. I asked why is the bill so high? The lady on the phone at the time of booking said we don’t charge customers for weekend calls and that is not how they conduct business. So, I booked an appointment with her. Otherwise, I would have waited until the first business day.
I called the office and asked to get clarification about why such a high charge and they were supposed to have a manager call me. No one called. Poor customer service.
I told the worker I know this isn’t his fault that he just works for them. But, he can remove the part and he could leave. I got it from here. He already done so because the manager had called him and told him to instead of calling the customer.
Beware of high pricing. Get the quote before you let them install anything on your furnace.
Had a guy come out from Peak after a power surge caused my furnace to quit. I was pretty sure I knew what was wrong after speaking to a couple of people who were previously HVAC. But I needed someone quick to come out to take care of it due to freezing temps.
Dude gets here. Super nice. Told him I thought it was the transformer. Okay cool.
Let him do his diagnostics. First comes back and tells me it’s my control board and it roughly would be $900 and not a guarantee that’s what’s wrong. I was very apprehensive about that. But he said he needed to go and finish his diagnosis first to make sure. THEN he comes back and tells me it’s my circuit breaker and I need an electrician before he can proceed. Nope. Now I know you’re wrong. I may not be trained. But I’m not stupid. Gave him his $89 just for coming out and sent him on his way.
My brother and his boss came later to check it out for me. They are quite busy, which is why I didn’t have them come out first. My mistake. I’ll just wait for them next time.
Turns out…. It was the transformer. They had it fixed it less than 10 minutes.
Your team is kind. BUT, I’m not looking to replace my furnace just because someone says so. I’d rather use the furnace I have and actually fix the problem. After doing my own research and hearing from MANY HVAC techs, the transformer was the first thing this cat should have checked. Because it’s literally designed to go to protect the rest of the unit.
You get one star just because the guy was nice.
12/12 new furnace installed again. So far working 3 days later. Customer service at this place sucks. And reaching manager is near impossible. If it wasn’t for me hounding the technicians cell, or giving bad review I prob wouldn’t have gotten a response like the other reviews state.
12/10 at midnight: no heat again. Used the QR code and nothing would load. Called the number on thermostat, and it went inline to request appt. I really hope they can make this right.
Got in contact at 740am. Technician is coming out between 1p-5p. I mentioned how Manager on Monday said if this happens again, the next step would be a unit replacement. They said the technician’s gonna come out and look and then go from there, and I said I don’t want them to dinker around with it at the end of a business To only get it working for a little bit and be back with the same problem. I think it was damaged during installation because they had a hard time And ever since there was banging and grinding noise. Which I told them.
12/8: original installers and a foreman came out at 9am. The foreman instantly found the problem. The installers plugged furnace into an already utilized plug which then made the unit not have enough power source. Kept auto shutting off the pilot. My original furnace had its own power supply and they chose to cut the wire and flip the breaker. It has been 26 hours and my heat has not shut off since. I did finally get to speak to a manager after requesting multiple times. I was told I would have gotten faster service if I used the smart thermostats to request service (had no idea this was a feature) even tho I followed proper channel when technician said just call the office if I have any problems.
The foreman also made the installs redo installation making it flush to the wall. Looks way better.
I’m thankful my furnace is working right now. That was a nightmare and scary.
Original installation 12/4:
Got a new furnace on Thursday. There was nothing wrong with mine. I was looking to get central heat but unfortunately it was way out of the budget. They recommended upgrading my wall furnace from 35BTU to 55BTU.
Day of installation: they had hard time taking off orginal unit About 1.5 hours. As they unboxed the new unit they realized it was incorrect height. They thankfully found correct size and came back to install. I went 5 hours witout heat since they had to disconnect gas line to remove.
The install was pretty questionable, which I did ask but was told this is normal. There was metal grinding noise on the fan, and a banging like metal was flexing when on.
Not even 10 hours later the furnace kicked off while I was sleeping. Woke up to cold and instantly called the company at 4am. This company advises 7 days a week 24hours. This was another big selling point when I purchase this furnace. I finally get a response at 7:30 in the morning and the guy came at nine. He ended up replacing a part on a new furnace and got the heat back on almost 12 hours later then he left and not even 20 minutes later it started making that grinding noise so I hurry up and took a video to show him the noise and they dispatched him back out and of course. It wouldn’t act up when he was here.
I asked him if they had a different number instead of the main office because it was hard to get a hold of someone and I was pretty upset. It took almost 4 hours to get a phone call back when they’re 24 hours and he said he thinks that changed until 8 PM working hours. I said that’s pretty dumb because your false advertising. He said he was gonna get the office on this. And that my heater should not kick off and then it’s all fixed.
I woke up Sunday morning to the furnace off again and I called around 8 AM requesting an appointment with no response. I even texted the number and everything and didn’t get a response until 12 hours later. I finally got someone to come out 9am on Monday. A full 24 hours without heat and the outside temp was -1 that night.
I can’t say enough how much I would recommend these guys to. I want to start out by giving a special things to everyone that was involved in the process from Sawyer the Representative, that gave us the quote, to Marlon, who was able to get me an amazing price due to our situation, And probably the best technicians in the HVAC Field: Jon & Q.
So I got five different quotes in all, and the difference between all the others, and these guys were that they were honest and very transparent from the beginning, but also very informative about each reason for any cost and in explaining how the HVAC systems work and what the best system would be for our specific home.
Sawyer laid all of that out for us as he spent actual quality time, explaining what our current system was and the different measurements and efficiencies along with how different systems work and how much savings we would be having along with the best cost-effective system to install in our specific house due to us having skylights and not as much insulation And many other reasons that were taken into account.
Marlon was able to find me the best system in our price range and was more than happy to work with me too explain to my in-laws about the reasons for why we need to get a specific system and answer all their questions and due to them not living with us and But needing thorough explanations since they were paying half of the cost for our investment home that we live in. He was able to respond to all my messages, very fast and thoroughly, and most of all he was very patient with me just like the rest of the team.
Jon and Q were the incredible, intelligent and respectful young men that came out to install both the AC and furnace In the scorching heat inside and outside the house. They came on time and Got to work right away, unloading all of the new equipment, They cleared out the old equipment and started installing the new equipment immediately Without Supervision or help at all. They were beyond respectful the entire time and didn’t ask for anything from us! You can tell that these guys have done a lot of installations by their efficiency, but also the knowledge that they have while installing these systems. They worked together to tackle in different parts of the installation, then came together when needed to do things together as a team so you know that they don’t do half ass work just to try to get things done fast. I Couldn’t be more happier with the work that they did at my house and I would hire them again And would go out of my way to refer them to anybody that needs an HVAC system!
Overall, these guys were the most professional yet also affordable Company I could hire. What made them even more amazing was the type of employees they have and the amount of respect each one of them showed throughout the process to us was incredible.
I’m telling you if you’re having second thoughts on any other company or Eugene multiple quotes go ahead and get them but you should definitely try to get these guys to give you a quote because they were literally knocked the rest out of the water and give you more information then any of the others would ever.
Thank you again and heating and cooling! You guys are the best will be definitely recommending you guys to all our friends and family and hopefully you wanna have another house in the future. I will reach out to you guys if I ever need !
And To : Jon, Q, Marlon, Sawyer - thank you for making my home livable again and helping me get this done so fast and efficiently. I appreciate you guys all and wish you guys all the best in your careers.
