What an amazing experience today. Jason came out last night to check our unit only to discover that we needed a complete new system. The guys arrived this morning and didn’t leave till several tests were conducted, we were comfortable in the house and they cleaned up everything. It was an overdue need but these guys made it look effortless. Thank you.
We called for service for a non-stop fan. The technician arrived as scheduled. He investigated took a number of meter readings and replaced what was needed. Once it was re-energized, the compressor started making noises which had been present often. Further trouble shooting revealed the compressor was shot and needed replacement. The unit had exceeded it's life expectancy by about 5-6 years. The technicians installed the new system the following day in the rain. They were professional and courteous. The lead tech answered questions as they developed. They cleaned up the debris from the old unit and disposed of it. I would recommend them in the future.
If I could leave no stars for this horrible company, that would be too many. Called on a Saturday due to a problem with our heat and a helper (their words) was sent out immediately. The helper was nice but due to a slight delay, the owner, Jason, called his helper and was bent out of shape because he assumed he was "standing around wasting time and money." We had a broken thermostat, and they wanted another $100 to replace it (connecting five wires), $100 for a fuse (even though we had one on hand) and $199 for the service call. We had to wait for the helper to go get a new fuse (again, we had the $1 fuse available), so WE ended up waiting around, but I guess our time doesn't count. I have NEVER been spoken to so rudely by a business owner and treated with such distain (he was on the phone with the helper the entire time as if he didn't have confidence in his ability). We have a contract with them, so they service our HVAC regularly and are paid upfront for the yearly contact. In addition, we are supposed to receive a 10% discount on any repair. We didn't get the discount and had to listen to the owner berating us and saying again that "time is money." I told him money must mean more to him than his customers and treating people with respect. In fact, the first time they came to our house, they overcharged us. They certainly didn't apply our refund with any quickness. We are now, obviously, cancelling our contract and would never let this company into our home again. Also, when paying for this ridicious service and lack of respect, they couldn't give us a receipt (they will email it) and were "disappointed" we were paying with a check. As a side note, the owner's wife is a relative by marriage and his mother-in-law a long-time dear friend for 40+ years (the reason we hired them in the first place to support a local business and people we know and care about). I wonder how this business owner (Jason) treats his own family. HVAC companies are plentiful in Gloucester and the surrounding areas. Select anyone other than this self-servicing loudmouth.
Update to your response:
-- No one ever asked for a discount other than the one we were supposed to receive for having a service agreement.
-- You informed us you were sending a helper but did not state he was in training.
-- My husband has never in the 23+ years I have known him gotten furious about anything.
-- If my husband didn't know what he was doing, how was he able to reinstall the thermostat while you were having a temper tantrum?
-- I doubt your wife or mother in law would be embarrassed to admit our relationship. If so, I would be happy to discuss your unprofessional conduct with them.
-- My husband and I certainly aren't cheap people but we expect to be treated fairly by those we hire. You calling us cheap numerous times and stating we kept asking for a discount "above and beyond" is a lie.
-- You stated in your response that you recorded our conversation. So you know for the future, recording a private conversation without everyone's consent is a crime.
What a horrible experience. I tried installing a thermostat and a 3 amp fuse (less than $1.00) shorted out. They charged $199 to come out and another $99 to install a fuse. We were supposed to get a 10% discount as a return customer with a service contract.
I can understand a fee, but they sent a helper (not a trained professional) to do the work, who didn't have a fuse on the truck. I tried to find one so he didnt have to run to pick one up. His boss, the owner told him he couldn't install my fuse and he had to run and get one. He was gone more than a half hour and I waited for him to return.
When we powered it back on, the heat didn't work so I wanted to change the thermostat back to the original. The owner told him to put everything back together and collect the fee. By the time he closed the furnace and came out of our crawlspace I had installed the old thermostat. The owner said I made his "tech" wait. After waiting for more than a half hour, he said I was making him wait. Really rich. Don't use their service and Jason, the owner is very disrespectful.
Jason, you had plenty of opportunities to do the right thing as a business owner and even wrote numerous lies on your response to this post. I admitted the fault of the shorted wires to the thermostat to your tech in training so he knew the problem and it only took him as long as crawling under the house (he even thanked me). I could have left the new thermostat installed and it may have taken him hours to figure it out, but I was helpful all along and only grumbled about the exorbitant fee for a service fee of $199 plus $99 fee to install a $1 fuse. Wouldn't you do the same? We never asked for a family discount but did say we had a service contract. I am not sure why you felt the need to argue with my wife after we were writing you a check for the full amount. You can be a bigger man and admit you were having a bad day or continue to act like a bad business owner.
