I’ve trusted Hendrix with all my HVAC needs for several years and have always been extremely happy with their service and pricing. Their billing is clear and detailed, and paying online is quick and easy—you immediately receive a receipt, which I really appreciate.
Yesterday, I had a plumbing emergency and discovered that Hendrix offers plumbing services as well. What a relief! I texted them right away, and they had a plumber at my property by 9:00 a.m. He quickly resolved the issue and made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving.
I truly love this company and the range of services they provide. Give them a try—you won’t regret it!
I received work from a larger Hampton Roads company that we had routine maintenance performed on for our HVAC system. A few months after routine maintenance was done we had smoke coming out of our vents. We called the company we had always gone through and they were able to get us a bypass workaround for our heater until our part was able to come in. Our neighbors had said to at least give Joe a call and see if we could get a better price for the work done. Our original company wanted $1200 for said replacement part and Hendrix came in at $500 for the same exact part. Their appointment/customer service staff was very expedient and I cannot thank Joe and his team enough. They now have loyal customers! Thank you!!!
As a new homeowner, working with Hendrix was a great experience from start to finish. Their team was professional, extremely helpful, and clearly knew what they were doing. A special shoutout to Joe, the consultant, and Robert, the technician, for their thoroughness and attention to detail—they both took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure nothing was overlooked. It made the entire process feel straightforward instead of overwhelming. I’m very pleased with their service and would highly recommend Hendrix, especially to first-time homeowners.
Joe helped us in 2018 when he offered a perfect solution for a specific need we had with our coil in our new air handler. Fast forward 8 years later, we needed service for the coil. We called the company that installed our system and had a terrible experience with a tech they sent to our home, who also gave us an outrageous quote to replace said coil, which was still under warranty. I asked for Joe Hendrix and was told he was no longer working for this company. I jumped through hoops to find him and am so glad I did! He took A LOT of time trying to help us resolve this issue. He gave us a quote, which was several hundred dollars less to do the warranty work. In the end, the original company came down significantly on the quote and honored the warranty on the coil. Joe was so cool about it! We ended up allowing the other company to do the warranty work, but signed up with Joe for his maintenance plan moving forward. Well, the original company came out and installed the coil. A day or two after the install, we noticed the system was still not heating the house properly. We contacted the original company that something wasn’t right. Our heater was only running on auxiliary heat. They sent the same tech who installed the coil out to check the system and he assured us it was just the cold weather and told us that heat pumps “were crappy for cold weather” and to expect the auxiliary heat to run as our only heat source once it gets below 35• THIS WAS NEVER THE CASE BEFORE with our system! (Can you say ‘outrageous electric bill’ as a result of running auxiliary heat 24/7??). At my wits end, I reached out to Joe. He was at our home the very next morning! He took the time to thoroughly evaluate our system, found out why it wasn’t heating the home properly and took the time to show us the necessary corrections to be made. Not once did he make his visit feel rushed. Not once did he use the same worn-out line we heard from the previous company…”we have hundreds of customers without heat, so will get to you in a few days.” Turns out, the previous company did not put the required amount of refrigerant in the system when they put in the new coil as well as didn’t take the time to go though our thermostat settings to make sure that it was set to communicate with the heat pump correctly instead of having the auxiliary heat kick on immediately to heat the home, bypassing the heat pump. We are finally WARM and extremely thankful for Joe! We are now Hendrix for life! 100%!!
