We bought an expensive ($2300) fireplace door here last fall. Last week, the glass doors broke while using the fireplace. When I went in to ask them about it, I was told they (1) don't fix glass (2) couldn't recommend someone who does fix glass and (3) it was my fault because you aren't supposed to close the doors when the fire is going. Oddly enough, the final point wasn't made clear during the sales pitch for the ($2300) door last fall. They had a enerally poor attitude and couldn't be bothered to discuss the problem with me. You might want to support a local business, but save your money and go to a big box store because there's no advantage to shopping here.

We have bought 2 Mendota fireplaces from CFC. Sales personnel was very easy to work with. Service is a nightmare. You rarely get anyone to answer the "service" line so you need to leave a message...that will not be returned until you call back on another day and choose the sales option on the phone. At that point you will go through your issues with the fireplace(s) and they will get a service representative on the phone. Usually it is a person named Will. He will be rude and disrespectful to you and then hang up on you. After waiting 4 days for them to call me back-I called and was the sales person got me Will (this has happened before). Will explained to me that they do not service NH (however they sell to people in NH) I then commented that a call back with this information would have been good since I had called 4 days earlier and this was my follow up call. As an aside, someone from CFC came to my house to fix my fireplace last winter-which is in NH! The fact that they do not service NH fireplaces is fine however communication would be helpful! Owning the fact that you did not call, nor did you plan on calling me, is unacceptable. Hanging up on me is rude and disrespectful! We will never by purchasing anything from CFC again which is unfortunate because we liked the sales department!! You have been warned!

Refreshing our fireplace area and stopped in to check things out. The staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. After showing me the products I was interested in, they answered questions I had about issues with my current gas insert. They offered to have someone come out and service it if needed but happily explained how I might troubleshoot it myself first. I very much appreciate when people try to be genuinely helpful instead of focusing only on profit. I will most definitely be coming here for future fireplace needs.
