I paid him $185 the service was bad and he took the money fireplace still not working. He said it was the switch but he didn't have one on him. Never offered to come back. I had switch replaced still not working so I don't recommend him. I want to use home as my brothers, father, son are all vets. Never again
My husband and I bought a pellet stove and had Veteran Chimney install it. The previous owner installed it and stated we didn’t need a permit. We decided to end up selling our house and Nashua Building department said we needed a permit. Previous owners of Veteran Chimney didn’t even follow the directions of installation!! I ended up getting the permit, (city of Nashua was fantastic working with me! )and had the building inspector come out, now Veteran Chimney new and previous owners are not answering me and not fixing it! Go somewhere else for installation because they don’t like following protocols!! You will end up paying for it in the end!!
Follow up..
Veteran Chimney only came back out to fix it because the Nashua Building Inspectors and manager were following up with him to fix it. He came in expecting to get paid 300$ to fix his original work that he never pulled the permit for. Left screaming and yelling how he’d never do any work for us ever again (which we will never use again) Sad that even the inspectors said they were going to look back on all their work. So exactly what Veteran Chimney said, Contractors beware of this company, dont use them.
These guys are a bunch of hacks and did a horrible job compromising safety. We were charged for a chimney liner and cap. They didn't use the correct adapter for the liner and used an extension pipe which was a lighter gauge metal and was not safety rated for the application. The liner was not properly secured at the top of the chimney, so they wedged a piece of bent metal under the liner to prevent it from dropping down, and The cap on top was never installed. We were not happy with the finish cover plate on the inside, and they never came back to repair it correctly as promised. The reason the inside finish cover plate didn't fit correctly was because the horrible liner installation job did not allow the pipe to be centered. We had to pay another company to come in and fix this mess. These guys don't take the time to do the job right and cut corners. They don't follow up either.
We hired them to do an inspection/installing a cap and to clean our chimney. The cleaners came on time and were done in 15 minutes. I checked on our chimney recently and they did a very poor job. They never cleared out the stuff from the back part of the chimney. As a first-time homeowner, I was unaware of what needs to be cleaned and checked and I feel like they took advantage of that. On top of all that, we never heard back from them regarding the inspection/installing a cap. Very unprofessional.
Edit: Added some photos. This is after I paid 300 bucks for a 15ish minute cleaning job.
Edit 2: I normally wouldn't do this but the response from the business was unsatisfactory to say the least. First off, their latest technology is just a big vacuum cleaner and a long scrubber which they shoved into the chimney. I don't think I would call that new technology. Regardless of what technology was used, the work was abysmal. I hired Ceaser chimney and now I know what to expect from a professional business. They were amazing and took lots of photos to show us what the chimney looked like. After the response from the business, I feel like I have to upload those pics too. Take a look at the photos and see if the work that they did was worth the 300 bucks I paid. For comparison, I paid Ceaser chimney 379 bucks for cleaning and inspection as compared to 300 I paid Veteran chimney just for the 'cleaning'.
This could've been a rare case and maybe this isn't the norm for this business but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth and the reply from the business was unsatisfactory which prompted me to edit my review and add additional information.
