The tech fixed the issue with my PC and reloaded windows onto the correct drive. Happy to have my computer working right again. Pricing / communication is an issue though. In talking to the owner on the phone I was quoted $140 - $150, but when I picked it up the price was $260. I don’t know if he forgot to quote labor during the first conversation or charged more because, as he said on the phone, it was a frustrating job. But the surprise higher price wasn’t very pleasant. Edit after response: The potential higher price was definitely not mentioned - the only price I heard on the phone was 110 for the reloading and 30-40 for a diagnostic fee (which confused me because I was told before that the diagnostic fee would be deducted if I had the work done there). I was told I was looking at around 150. This needs to be more clearly stated if a higher price is a possibility. A brand new customer won’t know otherwise. I understand things happen, every job is different, but communication is key so that there’s no surprise price. Service was good, but just double check on pricing if you’re looking to get work done.
