We drove past this shop and were so curious about the inside that we stopped by the next day. Jake is a super friendly, helpful guy (thank you for the recorder!) and there is an unbelievable amount of musical instruments inside. We were lucky enough to hear a few being played while we were there. Highly recommend stopping by!
A trusted musician friend recommended that I let him bring my beloved 50+ year old Yamaha pink label to Jake- in fact he brought it up there for me! It had been so difficult to play for years and it took a few months- but Jake rebuilt it and did a new set up and it plays like new. It sounds amazing and the cost was more than reasonable. I’d had quotes for over $1000 to do the same and Jake charged less than $200. I could not be happier and plan to return to look at other guitars… and maybe an antique table too! Highly recommended.
The entire vibe and atmosphere in Jake’s family shop is warm and inviting, but most importantly- so is the man himself! He keeps a neat collection of unique, vintage, and a few units of not so rare gear. Has gone well out of his way to help me every time I go in with symptoms of “gear acquisition syndrome”. He will not try to sell you services or products you don’t need, it is unlike any music shop experience you will have otherwise. I was referred by a friend and have officially found my go-to local guitar shop. Care, attention to detail, and a great attitude…you can’t ask for more. They are extremely skilled, experienced, laid back and knowledgeable at Jake’s shop; would trust them with anything from a simple setup to a full on neck reset on any of my instruments, vintage or modern over pretty much everyone else. Jake & Co, thank you for being you!
