Randolin Music Store and Guitar Repair

Nowa always does excellent and skillful repair work with my musical gear! He installed a new bridge and pickup on my upright bass and it is playing and sounding fantastic. I have used it to perform at the Burlington Jazz Festival. I have been a regular customer of his for the past 15 years. He is a great guy and very skilled at his craft. He is efficient and effective and often will fix guitars and basses for me same day on the spot. His store is fun with unique inventory and I've also bought great instruments from him as well including a great deal on a Les Paul classic which is a go to guitar for gigs. Nowa builds beautiful instruments and is an accomplished musician in his own right. He is my go-to for instrument repairs and restorations. When I moved to Vermont from Costa Rica I needed a guitar. When I met Nowa (the owner of Randolin) he spoke to me in Spanish, which I found he learned in Valencia, Spain during his training as a luthier. I bought a guitar from him although eventually I found my soul-instrument(s) in percussion, so I have purchased guiro, guira, maracas and bongos from him. That said, the focus of Randolin is mostly on sale, repair and creation of string instruments. The space is wonderful, you go through the workshop where he does all the work, and then is a retail space with guitars, mandolins, violins, etc, including some instruments built by him. The surroundings are very beautiful, with neighboring gardens from a Buddhist Center and a trail. Coming into Randolin Music Store reminded me of when my guitar teacher helped me buy my first guitar from a luthier in Costa Rica -- as soon as he came into the workshop of the luthier and saw all the wood, working space and guitars he said: this is paradise for me!
