Potter Violins

I had a letting go session of my first full size violin from my symphony era, and this place was cool about it. He didn’t rush me on my goodbyes, so that’s good. They were cool about whatever the process is to de-violin someone. Great place to go for instruments. 🎻 if you’re a violinist reading this and some failure is projecting her crap on you SHINE before your savant skills turn into unnecessary discard of your craft. Bad teachers will make you want to discard whichever subject they taught no matter how good you are at it, and I can only assume that behavior is strategic.

Had a genuinely wonderful experience working with Potter Violins. Jim Kelly was extremely helpful, taking care to select instruments after we discussed my needs, goals, and preferences. He expertly demonstrated them to narrow down final candidates for trial, and was great with communication during the process, answering my questions quickly and completely, and always with the good humor and kindness of a friend. A lot of shops play games, but I felt like everything was exceptionally transparent and up front during the entire process. I couldn’t recommend Potter Violins and Jim more highly. I love the viola they helped me find; it could have been a years long process but was made quick and easy with their tremendous connections, inventory, and people.
