The vacuum didn’t even work the way it was advertised. The salesman pulled up threads from the mattress when demonstrating carpet cleaning. When using the hard floor mopping attachments it leaks everywhere. The salesman pretended to be on the phone with his boss every time we denied the purchase. We then settled on on an agreement for $50-$60 a month. When the bill came out we were charged $75. After attempting to call them multiple times we will be brining the product back in person. Absolute scam a temu vacuum works batter than Kirby!
I should have never let them in my home. Not only did they take up 3 hours of my Friday night, they kept bothering me until I made a purchase. It was real obvious the previous car salesman was using his tactics to make a sale but every time I said no, they kept pushing. I felt uncomfortable and honestly didn’t realize what I was getting myself into. I made a purchase but regretted it immediately and still do. I don’t much care for the product I received and feel like it doesn’t function like they hyped it up to do. The interest rate is crazy high and despite being told my payments wouldn’t start for several months, I got a statement the following month. If these door-to-door solicitors come to your home, please spare yourself the 3 hours and unnecessary amount of money for a mediocre product.
So I just went to get some Kirby bags from the location off Red Tip rd (awesome store btw) and I didnt have to pay nearly as much as they charge at the store or Riley rd… 25 dollars for two bags when I literally just paid 12 and some change at the red tip location. Will definitely not be returning to this location ever again. For all your future Kirby needs go to red tip rd everything there is fairly priced and the gentleman that runs the store is so kind and helpful.
This is about to be a pretty long one. If I could upload videos I would.
Kirby came to my Apt for the first time around November. I live by myself and I am pretty small and I never have guest over unless I know they are coming. However, sometimes the leasing office will come and walk around or knock on the door to do Maintenance or change a filter.
At first it was a tall white rugged man with no teeth that knocked on my door. I assumed it was a maintenance man. Luckily I had my sister and brother on the phone in case something had happened. Needless to say, I have bad anxiety and struggle to comprehend things at times. This man spoke extremely fast and shoved an extremely small tide bottle in my hand. He said something about he is asking people to do a quick survey and we get a free gift. He asked me if I had time to do the survey. I said sure thinking it was going to be on a card. He said okay I’ll be right back . When he came back it was a total of 2 males and a short Asian female. I felt extremely overwhelmed and didn’t expect for them to have so many people. They brought the Kirby in the house and the white guy left. KIRBY WAS NEVER MENTIONED AT THE BEGINNING.
As soon as I could realize what was going on I voiced that I was not interested in buying anything. The black guy said okay but is it cool for me to still do the demonstration and bc I was scared I agreed. I immediately texted my brother and sister for them to stay on the phone with me. I also announced to them that they were on camera. (I was on Group FaceTime and the way the camera was facing it showed my entire living room)
The black guy did the demonstration while the Asian girl just sat there . Although the black guy was extremely nice and understanding when I kept expressing that I did not want to buy it, the white guy just kept walking in and out of my apartment and was literally trying to pressure me into buying the stupid vacuum. I was becoming extremely annoyed and I told the black guy that the other guy was about to get cursed out. So when the white guy came back in for the last time the black guy gave him something to do so that he wouldn’t come back inside.
After they finally left I thought that was going to be the last of it because I expressed NUMEROUS times that I DID NOT WANT TO BUY THE VACCUM. (The black guy admitted to me that our Apt complex told them they were not allowed to come here to sell anything.)
Soon after that at approximately 9 pm, I hear a knock at my door and it was this female posted on these pictures. I didn’t open the door but I looked through the peephole to see her standing there. I walked away because again, I felt extremely uncomfortable, she looked like she was on some type of drug, and I don’t have people come here especially at night.
Roughly a month (maybe a little over) after that encounter, my neighbor (who has a ring) brought to my attention that there was a white male that walked by my door (her fiancé) and stopped to look at my mat. (It says bi*ch don’t wear no shoes on my house) a couple days later is when the girl knocked. There was also a black man (who’s been caught peeping through a neighbor on the first floor bedroom window) that knocked on my door while I was at work. When he realized her ring was recording him he left.
At this point I decided to get a ring as well because now I am worried for my safety.
Today, there was a different white girl and black guy that knocked on my door instead of ringing the ring bell. You could hear them mumbling back to eachother. My neighbor sent me her footage and I sent her my footage. The white girl looked back at her ring and the black guy asked her what she was looking at. When he looked back he says something about “I’m trying to get somebody” and they walk off.
All the other people are confirmed to be working with Kirby, however I am not sure these two people today are.
There are so many post on Facebook of how sketchy these Kirby people are. They are extremely rude, and don’t care about anything .
At this point it’s harassment.
I bought a vacuum from an in home demonstration. High pressure sales pitch, and they spent hours in my home for what was supposed to be a quick demo, no pressure situation. Suddenly they were competing for a trip, and they needed to sell 4 more vacuums to get it, and every other reason they needed to sell it that day. I tried to postpone my decision until another day, and they kept coming up with ways around whatever excuse I used to wait till later.
Fast forward to 3 days later, and I’m regretting this purchase, since it’s a small fortune for a freaking vacuum, so I consult my contract to find a clause allowing me to cancel as long as I return it in the same condition it was sold to me in. I then inspected the vacuum looking for any signs of use, scratches, dings, etc. I found nothing wrong with it other than it had a used bag inside. My fiancé removed the bag, wiped it down, and I made the call. Due to the language of the contract, I wanted to return the vacuum along with the signed cancellation notice in person to the store, but the salesman tried for 20 minutes to convince me to allow him to pick it up in person, which seemed odd. I told the salesman I would give him $100 to compensate him and his wife for the time they spent, which I did at the store before going in. I get inside, and have another guy try to convince me that all my reasons for wanting to return it are wrong, but he gives up. I signed the cancellation in the office, go back out to the car, and before I could leave, the salesman comes running out saying they found some scratches on the unit that somehow I’d missed in my inspection, and my fiancé also missed. I’m expecting small, minor scratches since we didn’t see it ourselves at all, but find several very large, very conspicuous scratches that looked like someone had literally scraped it with a key. They then say that the contract says it has to be in the same condition it was sold to me in. I’m kicking myself for not taking pictures beforehand, but I inquired about the cost of replacing the part that was damaged. They charged me $160 for the part, tried one last time to sell it to me at a large discount, but I refuse. So yeah, don’t buy a Kirby in Fayetteville, and if you do, and decide to return it, take pictures of everything inside the store or video it when the guy arrives to pick it up if you don’t return it yourself. This entire experience has permanently stained the Kirby brand for my family and I. The salesman kept my $100 tip and I got extorted for $160.
