I bought a used 2021 Breitling Superocean to celebrate one year sober. Not only is it special for that reason, but it's also my first "big boy" watch. Unfortunately I felt the rotor was making a funny noise and the crown felt a bit gritty when winding. I fretted and stressed then took it to 5 star after they were recommended to me by DeVons jewelers on S Virginia. I live 3.5 hours from Reno so this was a big deal to get this right the first time. Anyway, I met Jim and he took the time to speak to me about the watch and the movement and didn't hesitate to do a quick diagnostic right then. He reported the rotor bearing was bad. I paid for a replacement rotor bearing and a complete movement service. Jim gave me a very good price due to my profession and we chatted a bit about other interests. I told him I needed it back by a certain date if possible and he said he would try. Every time I emailed Jim, he replied and was easy to communicate with from afar while I waited. He answered all my questions regarding the movement. I was also able to get my watch back in time for my sober anniversary! Everything seemed to be working good, and it was keeping time at less than +2 sec/day. About a week later while flying abroad, I noticed the watch was suddenly running 9 seconds fast! I was dismayed as it is COSC certified. After I got home I emailed Jim and he said it would be covered under his service guarantee and to bring it in. It took a couple months to get back over there but when I did, Jim came out and spoke to me in person and inspected and demagnetized my watch for no charge. It's currently running at +/- 0 sec a day after 4 days. He didn't charge a dime and also gave me a couple spring bars for free. I would recommend this shop and believe Jim is the real deal.
