Took my gold ring in to see what they would pay me. I Asked what percentage of spot price they pay. They were benevolent to tell me. They said they just give an offer and that’s it. Definitely would not recommend taking your gold there if you wanna get anywhere close to the money you can 5 minutes down the road.
I was impressed by my experience with Landis Jewelers. My sister and I were searching for the perfect gift for our mother's birthday. While Landis has plenty of beautiful jewelry, Sara and Aurora helped us design a pearl necklace. Aurora has the patience of a saint and Sara has the expertise to make it all happen. We designed an elegant necklace that my mother cherishes with all of her heart.
***Edited to add - I'm not obtuse. I understand they were imperfect matches. I asked what size should get and was NEVER offered any other options. I was more flustered abour YOUR response. YOU NEVER OFFERED AN ALTERNATIVE. I was asking for an estimate and even asked if you have settings. I was willing to purchase a setting from you and get it set somewhere else. Everything discussed with me after your response was tainted. Your response to this review shows that you were never really interested in helping me in the first place. Your employer was incredibly kind and it's not his fault that you muddied the waters. In less than 10 minutes you showed what kind of business you're running. As an owner, you could have come out to smooth over the situation. And instead of offering to have me reach out to you, you offer a backhanded apology instead.***
I have never felt more disrespected and frankly embarrassed as I was today. I've worked for a retail company for over 20 years that prides itself on customer service, so I know how to treat people.
Last week, I brought in a setting and a stone and wanted to know if it COULD be set. I had the wrong sized setting (6mm) according to the jeweler, so I purchased a larger setting (7mm) which I assumed (or hoped) would be the correct size. I called and asked if I could bring it in for an estimate and was told it was fine to bring it in. Once I did, however, I was spoken ABOUT as though I was a child and a problem customer.
The associate at the counter was perfectly professional, but when he brought my setting and stone to the back for the jeweler to examine, I heard the same woman that cheerfully told me over the phone to bring it in talking about me in a hostile tone. I was about 10 feet away, so it was impossible for not to over hear their conversation. Very unprofessional. A gentleman came out from the back and informed me that a) the setting was too large, and b) they couldn't do it because they couldn't ensure the integrity if the stone. Why wasn't I told this on the prior visit? Who knows? When I asked what size they could recommend, I was not given a straight answer. I asked if they sold settings and was told yes, they did, but not once were any offered, even if to just verify sizing, as apparently my 2 settings were incorrect. I clearly needed guidance on my next step, not admoishment. I also let the employee know that I heard how I was being discussed and didn't even get an apology. My plan for the day was to actually inquire about the setting, but also to purchase a locket that I had previously asked about. I am not a rich person, but I did plan on spending some money at a local business, and now they have permanently lost a customer.
Not that my opinion matters too much in the grand scheme of life right now, but I won't be recommending this business to anyone.
Kaitlyn helped my husband pick out my engagement ring, which was perfect! We also went back for our wedding bands and every employee we worked with was very friendly and super helpful. Would highly recommend E.G.Landis for your jewelry needs, especially engagement and wedding bands!
