Very disappointed with an experience I had the other day! I had brought in a loose diamond to for the inscription to be verified and for a quote on a ring setting. The lady I worked with, Nicole, took my stone to the back and took a while to look at the stone (I believe at least 5-10 mins) when the last time we had brought a stone it was checked IN FRONT of us where we were also able to see the inscription. When she brought my diamond back out it was dirty and cloudy! It was clean and polished when brought in, I had genuinely thought she had put some residue on my diamond. Refer to pictures because I’ve asked around, and everyone’s agreed. She did verify my diamond was legit, and then started making backhanded statements about my stone and seemingly mocking the fact that I chose to go a custom cutter route instead of through them? We had let her know there was a ring here that we were inspired by, I guess that’s why she kept trying to sell me on the ring they offered instead but I just didn’t respect the mocking and talking down on my diamond to try to make a sale of your own, when we had come to get the diamond set by you guys anyways? Especially when mine was better clarity, custom cut….which does exist Nicole, you should really just educate yourself :). I mean I had to basically tell her to back off and that I chose my stone for a reason and was happy with it? Last point, every customization I had wanted she talked me out of, advised against saying it “wasn’t practical” and then quoted me an outrageous amount for basically the same ring setting with an engraving and hidden gemstone. $2100 for the setting alone and $2600 for engraving w gemstone when the original ring with 2.5ct GIA diamond was $2750? Needless to say I chose to go somewhere else, which is a shame because I was really excited to get this piece done by them. Unfortunately everything about Nicoles demeanor screamed, “We don’t want your money.” If you do choose to go here for anything, especially a stone setting, I do suggest you see anyone but Nicole. I had a few moments of interaction with Deborah (I believe) while Nicole was checking my diamond and I wish I just stuck with her, because her customer service skills and manner were much more respectable than Nicole’s. Unfortunately when I went back for her name I was told (by Nicole) that she works upstairs in accounting and isn’t usually on the floor. But I will say she’s the only reason this place gets a star after the way my boyfriend and I were treated by Nicole the other day.

After realizing we lost our diamond, you transformed a truly difficult and unpleasant situation into an experience marked by kindness and compassion. While it is important to act professionally and do the right thing, you went beyond that by truly embodying those values in your actions. Your genuine care and thoughtfulness made a significant difference, and Matt and I are sincerely grateful. Matt and Lisa
