My Viking gas oven stopped heating. I called two different repair services who came to my house, spent time working on the problem. They charged me for the “repair” and left. Sadly the gas oven still did not work. I finally called Broussard’s Appliance Repair and the service man found I had a cracked part in the oven. While he was here he called in the order for the replacement parts. It is an old stove, maybe over 20 years old, that was in the house when we bought it two years ago. I’m pleased he was able to acquire the parts for this older appliance. When the parts arrived, the repair was completed and my oven now is working very well. I will call Broussard’s if I ever need appliance repairs again. Metairie, LA 3-2026
I am an elderly person and it is my opinion that this company took advantage of me because I am an elderly woman. I was forced by Whirlpool to use this repair service for a refrigerator that was failing to cool intermittently. Broussard charged me a service fee and for their travel gas to send a technician to just “diagnose” the problem. They “diagnosed” a “control panel board”, the most expensive repair on any refrigerator other than a compressor. It took almost 2 months to get the part in and to schedule the replacement installation. They took the old part with them when they left without asking if they could have it. The refrigerator failed again intermittently several times within 2 weeks of the supposed “repair” — same issue that I had called about initially. Obviously, they had misdiagnosed the problem. So, about $1000 had come directly out of my pocket and my refrigerator was still broken. Broussard is refusing to refund my money claiming that they will not refund anything until they can strip the new control panel they installed off of my refrigerator without returning the old control panel to me. And, they indicated that even if they retrieved the new part from my refrigerator, they would not refund me the service fees for their misdiagnosis. I told them that I was thinking about disputing the charges on my credit card since they are refusing to return the part they removed and refusing to refund me. The manager, Brett, started being very rude and abusive. He even threatened to call the manufacturer to halt the delivery of my new replacement refrigerator. He actually tried to claim credit for my work getting a new refrigerator. So, I feel that I have been bilked out of $1k and, as an elderly woman, I feel targeted by this company for harassment, threats and intimidation tactics. I have dealt with a failing refrigerator for 3 months. I will be disputing this as a potential fraudulent repair to my credit card issuer as well as filing complaints with the state attorney’s general office and the BBB. I will also file a complaint with the state licensing board. And, if all of this fails to secure a refund, I will be filing a lawsuit. I cannot and do not recommend this company in the least. If there were a no star or a minus 5 star option, I would have chosen to leave it for this review.
