Mr. Handyman of Chattanooga

This was my first experience with Mr. Handyman, and I am very happy to share my appreciation of all that this involved. First, the appointment, reminders, photo of technician, and tracking arrival is important to me as a woman living alone in the city. Second, the estimate provided proved correct - no worries about finding more money at the end. Most importantly, third: the work done was excellent in every way. My project involved dry wall repair in two areas ( after installation of new ceiling fixtures) but also to make a small repair to a previous (imperfect ) job. All work was done according to schedule with a beautiful result. I would also like to add that while this project cost a little more than expected I fully support higher pay for skilled craftsmen and the needed technical support at the local level. I have had my share of hiring a second person to finish the botched repair of another. Hopefully, with Mr. Handyman that is all in the past!

I hired this company to come out and correct two interior doors in a house that we recently bought. The handyman told me that he would be able to fix the doors that were currently installed to where they would close and latch. He did not give me any indication as to how much this would cost, not even a ballpark range. He was here for 1.5 hours, And the total bill was $277. I asked how much of that was labor and how much was materials. He answered that there was no charge for materials, and that all of it was labor. If you do the math that comes out to $185 an hour in labor charge. Even after the work was done The doors do now close but have a very poor finish, not indicative of 185$/hr quality. Light can be seen through all three sides when the door is closed. Needless to say, I was very dissatisfied with the quality of work and will not be using the company again.
