Verify full functionality before paying. During a βfree diagnostic,β the technician disassembled the phone. He subsequently asserted that the screen was defective and quoted a repair price. When I indicated I did not wish to proceed under those terms, I was discouraged from leaving and the price was later reduced by $30. Prior to reassembly, I requested the opportunity to unlock and test the device to confirm proper functionality. This request was denied, and I was assured that the phone was fully operational. After reassembly and upon being asked for payment, I tested the phone and determined that it was still not fully functional. I then requested that the original screen be reinstalled, resulting in a significant and unnecessary delay.
