I am so pleased with the work that I received from Guate Upholstery. They did an outstanding job on my grandfather's chair and at a fraction of the price that others wanted. This is on an over statement. I will look no further to find someone else to do any work with upholstery. Their service reminds me of when I lived in Europe; inexpensive, exceptional work and a pleasent interaction. Guate Upholstery is outstanding.
Their fast, friendly, and affordable service combined with top quality workmanship has kept them as my 'Go To' upholstery shop for many years. My most recent visit was to have them put new foam in my couch cushions. The cushions are as good as new again!
They did a terrific job making pillows covers from my fabric. I will use them for future upholstery needs. Their turn around time is very quick and very well priced. Big plus location is downtown and always easy to get a parking spot in front.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR STUFF HERE: I took in a travel golf bag that I flew with once and Delta Airlines ripped off the outer strap. I purchased the new plastic clips and brought them in. I took off the old ones myself. I needed 2 new clips and to reenforce the stitching to make sure it wouldn't rip in the future. This is 1 pass with a commercial sewing machine. I was told it was $190.00. The bag itself costs $149.98. I left and verified what something like this should cost from competitors. This is a $25 job, that would take no less than 15-20 minutes. I then bought extra strength thread and used my own sewing machine to do this. It took me (who has no idea what I am doing less than 30 minutes to complete it). I am all in for the plastic clips, thread under $15 for materials. This is robbery, price gauging, and most off terrible ethics. How many others have been ripped off by this place? Don't just agree with someone who tells you what something costs. Do your homework. Do not do business with them. How can 1 pass with a sewing machine on a simple strap for a travel golf bag cost that much. They are terrible.
