Friend Construction

The good and the bad. Used Friend for a re-roof of the garage. They weren't the cheapest but they were communicative and did what they said they would do. The work was quality and done well. Very satisfied. Where the satisfaction broke down was requesting a quote for another job from them after the garage roof. Basically I was ignored. Repeatedly asked for the quote and repeatedly got no response. I don't have a problem if you say it's not a job we don't want to do but in this case it was crickets. Zero communication.

A little surprised by the high rating on here. Winter before last, a giant tree hit my house in the middle of winter. We needed an emergency tarp, and we were very grateful that Friend Construction came out and tarped the roof on very short notice. They billed us promptly, and we were happy. Given this very good experience, we wanted to use them to repair the roof damage. They seemed eager for the work, and even gave us a detailed estimate. My insurance company was being a little difficult, but I wanted to put a roof on my house no matter what, so I tried to get in touch with them to set a date to begin work. They said, "no problem, we'll call you back on Monday." They didn't call on Monday. In fact, I was never able to get in touch with them again. They just ignored my calls and voicemails. I had to call around the state to find another roofer. (Snow Country Roofing pulled through and did a great job in the end). I was utterly flabbergasted by this behavior. An, "I'm so sorry, but we are now overbooked for the summer" would have perfectly sufficed. Anyway, be warned. There are some cracks in this business.
