The Chimney Sweep

If no stars was an option I'd leave that. I hired these guys 5 years ago and the first time they came out they went on the roof and cleaned the chimney from the top down and then went in the basement and cleaned from the bottom up as should be done. That was the first and last time they did the job right. For the next 4 years they only cleaned from the bottom and didn't go on the roof to address the top of the chimney again. Last year smoke kept filling my house and the metal chimney cap rusted off and creosote dripped down on either side of my metal roof (a clean up job costing me 500 dollars). This year instead of paying 175 dollars for The Chimney Sweep to come spend 30 minutes in my basement I bought a chimney sweep and had my son do it. While he was on the roof he found that the top of the chimney was so clogged with creosote that he couldnt see down it. There was less than a 2 inch hole for smoke to escape. This not only caused the smoke and creosote damage but was actually incredibly dangerous as well. I am beyond disgusted with the half assed job done by this company and will not only not hire them again but will let everyone who needs this service know what kind of work they do.

Hired the chimney sweep to do a chimney inspection on a new house we bought before using fireplace.. they cleaned the chimney wrote down some notes for some basic masonary repairs.. the 2 guys here didn't write up the estimate and said that office staff would do that..After reconnecting with them after another week of not hearing anything back from them on the estimate I was told that he had "shingles" and he would be getting the estimates done that week.. waited another week, called again left message, no reply.... called again left message asking if they were still interested in the job, no response back at all...Very poor communication if any, didn't do the job asked, got charged for a inspection that I didn't get a written or email report on...Don't waste your money on this company,I wish I didn't...
