My old furnace gave out on me so I got an appointment for an inspection. It was going to need a lot of work, so I went with a new system as recommended. A major expense, but didn't seem unreasonable and they have a very convenient financing partner that was able to give me essentially instant approval which helped. A couple days after the inspection I was able to have the install, so it was just under a week from when I called to having a whole new system put in. From what I can tell they did an excellent job: they were neat in their work, took care to make sure the details were right, took the old system and cleaned everything up after. Their sizing calculation was for a smaller system than previous and it's a two-stage rather than the previous single stage. I was a bit concerned how that would do, and it took a bit of time to fully reheat the house from 50 to 70, but I really like it now: it runs very quietly and can kick on at a low level to maintain heat while also having plenty of capacity at the higher level when needed. I had never had annual maintenance done on the system previously. If I had, it may have lasted a bit longer. The new one comes with a ten year warranty on parts and labor, with the labor part requiring annual inspection. So I definitely plan to have them inspect it annually to try to make sure it will last ten plus years. The previous one was about 14 years old, so it feels good to have this squared away for the foreseeable future now. Alright, I think that covers it. Time for me to get back to work myself. Thank you all; it feels great to have the new furnace!
