I came in today to get an oil change, which I paid $190 for, and it took over two hours. They did an inspection and told me I needed over $6,000 worth of repairs. They said they found multiple leaks and that many parts needed to be replaced, even though I just had the water pump and thermostat replaced last week. My coolant was not leaking yesterday, and they tried to convince me these issues were already happening. No one was helpful, and I believe something may have been done to my car. I would not trust this place because they overcharge and are very deceitful. I came back later in the afternoon to address the same issues, but they gave me the same high quote instead of considering that their technicians could have made a mistake. They were also quick to help someone with a Porsche but didn’t offer the same level of help to me with my Volkswagen. This place feels like a scam.
They have absolutely the best customer service out of any auto repair shop in the area. They specialize in foreign auto service and they are excellent at it. It’s hard to find people you can trust to work on your vehicles, especially when they’re foreign cars. Pete’s is absolutely hands-down the best. Take your car here if you want quality work and excellent customer service..
I’ve been a customer of Pete’s Auto for several years and have brought two different Mercedes vehicles to them, including my most recent one over the past couple of years. Despite some of the mixed reviews I’ve seen, my personal experience has been consistently positive. Anytime I’ve had questions. especially “what if” or scenario-based questions, they took the time to answer them thoroughly and professionally. I was always given clear explanations and all available options, which allowed me to make informed decisions about repairs without feeling pressured. They’ve also stood behind their work. In one instance involving an inner door panel repair, I pointed out a discrepancy after pickup. They immediately ordered a replacement and corrected the issue to my satisfaction without hesitation. That level of accountability matters. There were also times when I needed services they didn’t offer, and instead of trying to upsell or take on work outside their scope, they were upfront and referred me elsewhere. I appreciated that honesty. In addition to this, there was a time a brought a foreign vehicle I was considering purchasing for my daughter to Pete’s Auto for an inspection. They performed a thorough evaluation and were honest about the condition of the car, ultimately saving me from purchasing a vehicle that would have required nearly $5,000 in repairs that the local dealer DID NOT disclose despite saying they had completed a bumper to bumper inspection. That level of transparency and expertise reinforced my trust in their recommendations. One thing I think is important for people to understand, especially when reading negative reviews, is that high-mileage foreign vehicles will require costly repairs regardless of where you take them. That’s the nature of the vehicle, not the shop. At that point, it becomes a personal decision whether to continue investing in the car or move on to something with lower maintenance costs. Compared to dealership pricing, Pete’s Auto has consistently been far more reasonable. Overall, their professionalism, communication, knowledge, and willingness to stand behind their work have earned my trust. I highly recommend Pete’s Auto to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable shop for foreign vehicle maintenance and repairs, without paying dealership prices.
