Bought a Caliper off eBay from this pawn store for Christmas. Without disclosing any information to me this store decided to do signed delivery for a item less than $100. Charged me more for shipping and now is delaying giving me a return because the item did not arrive and it is past Christmas. They refuse to call the post office and have it sent back to them. I would have not purchased this if they disclosed it was signed delivery. Bad business practices and even worse customer service I would not buy from them again lesson learned. I’m editing this review because Google won’t allow a response after the business has already replied to defend their misleading practices, which I believe they violated clear FTC guidelines under general FTC deceptive practices rules (Section 5 of the FTC Act). To the store: For the record I did a charge back because you offered no help with the post office and stopped responding. You offered no information on refusing the delivery and kept sending eBay tracking information notices instead of sending a message to me to refuse the delivery. And yes you are right I had to take time away from meals and other important matters to find this out the hard way instead of you providing common decency customer service. You’re welcome to report me. It is common knowledge that every major shipping carrier charges extra for signature confirmation. I’ve purchased numerous items on eBay valued well over $100 without signature required, using eBay’s own shipping labels. Your claim that signature delivery is common is simply false. Shoppers, please note how this business refuses to take responsibility. They apologize, then immediately double down, defend their error, and expect customers to spend their time driving to the post office to fix a problem caused by their own misinformation—all while knowing nothing about the customer’s situation or convenience.
