Excellent service from start to finish. The staff diagnosed my playstation 5 disk drive problem immediately and explained everything clearly. The repair was done within 40 minutes, and the console has been functioning flawlessly since. Fair pricing and great customer care. Definitely my go-to repair shop now.
WARNING | They write their own 5-Star reviews from accounts they create on Google to combat negative reviews and increase their overall rating. Anyhow, while my phone still rings and notifies, the screen is black and won't turn on. I am out $220.50, and my phone is destroyed, being over $1200+ lost. My phone is now a $1000 brick. When I flew back to Chicago to get a refund for the defective part they'd installed (and apologized for), I was verbally threatened by the manager, Amer W. (or Arsalan). I originally paid iProRepair in the Water Tower $220.50 to get my phone screen repaired. I left with a defective part. If you value your time, your money, or your property, go less than three blocks to the uBreakiFix in River north. Do not give them your business as customer service is complimentary to a sold product or service. Do NOT trust their 4.9-star rating. Look at the other recent 1-star reviews. It’s a clear pattern: "bricked my iPhone" (N C.), "After market battery... dead again!!!! Scammers!!!" (Nash N.), "replaced my screen with something very low quality" (Noah H.). This is what they do. Here’s the full story so you don’t make the same mistake I did: I came in for a "30-minute" screen replacement at 12:30pm CT. The technician, Muhammad, was clearly rushing, to finish before he had to break. The result? A disaster. Initially, the screen was dark, had broken pixels, and there was glue literally leaking from the seams of my phone that had rubber bands around it. They even left the rubber bands on when they returned it. I reached out the next day, and they apologized in writing, a clear admission of guilt, and confirmed the part was defective (see attached). Here’s where the issue really shows: I travel for work, a fact I had to explain repeatedly as I was not in Chicago. I had to wait to fly back to Chicago to get the repair. When I returned, their "30-minute" repair advertisement suddenly became a "7-10 business day" repair to replace the screen. They required that I agree to be massively inconvenienced by their bait-and-switch tactics to "fix" the issue. I declined to wait and asked for a refund with reinstalling my original screen back, the manager, Amer W., completely lost it. He became hostile, started yelling, and repeatedly cut me off when he asked me questions to answer and I answered them following up with being within their terms, warranty, and even showed their documented apology back. I have photos documenting all of this, the glue, the defective screen, the written admission, and I am attaching them to this review. I am also filing a formal complaint and disputing the charge with my bank. This place is not a repair shop: it's a liability.
I was with my partner at iProRepair when he tried to get a refund for a defective screen they'd installed. I have never seen such unprofessionalism. The manager, Amer W., became hostile, started yelling when my partner was trying to answer his questions, and verbally threatened my partner to leave when he showed their written apology to them to fix it. My partner was holding their written apology for the defective part, and the manager's response was to threaten him to leave when he would not accept anything but a refund for all the trouble they admitted was their fault. The store's shoddy, rushed repair (with leaking glue) has completely bricked my partner's $1200+ phone. The screen is now black. They also pulled a bait-and-switch. After my partner flew back to Chicago to get the repair fixed, their "30-minute" job suddenly became a "7-10 business day" problem. We have photos and their written admission of guilt. Do not trust this place.
