These folks stripped and then finished a small rocking chair that's been part of my life since I was born. I'm so delighted with what they uncovered and the result. Their pricing is fair, and they're knowledgeable of their craft and pleasant to work with. Would recommend, and will use again if the occasion arises.
We had them restore 2 inherited cedar hope chests as well as a very old antique dresser from great grandparents.
The dresser had so many little details that they captured and restored perfectly. Not only that, but all drawers are now structurally sound.
All this being said, I want to highlight that you would never know they were redone (other than the fact they look amazing for their age).
They kept the integrity of the pieces and truly made them beautiful and functional again.
It was a pricey investment, but well worth it.
FYI, this review is post is about three years post restoration. My daughter wants to restore a new piece she got and I realized I never left a review. So, 3 years in- and still happy with our experience!
Great job and thanks. I inherited a coffee table that went from my grandparents to my parents. It was the central piece of furniture in my parents living room. Many memories around this table. So nice to have it receive a refinishing and update for the next generation. Extremely happy with the quality of work. Thanks so much
Jay recently refinished an antique dresser for us. The dresser was purchased by an ancestor in 1865. The existing/remaining finish was some kind of opaque barn red stain or paint with light gold, tiger maple veneer on the drawer fronts. The attached pictures show the beautifully refinished dresser. Jay was amazing! He let me come to the shop to look at stain samples, he made knowledgeable suggestions, and he went the extra mile by refinishing drawer bottoms, shimming an uneven drawer slide, filling and smoothing chips in the veneer fronts, and lathe turning new matching knobs to replace chipped and broken knobs. The original dresser was crafted from several different kinds of wood; but Jay managed to stain it in a way that brought it all together wonderfully. The finished piece is far better than we imagined; and we will be bringing more work to this shop soon!
