Phenomenal service and friendliness! Cam and Ben were very transparent and honest with what was going on with my car. They gave me options and recommendations that were very fair priced and not trying to gauge me for every penny. My car feel lovely on the road now. 10/10 service! I'll definitely be going back from now on!
In terms of people were great and friendly, especially the front desk guy Cam. Bro was cool peeps.
In terms of my car they:
1. did a free break check (I had less than 10% left on the front)
2.did a free look over of my car and found quite a few glaring issues like a cracked O2 pipe or gasket cant quite remember. They also found out why my car keeps leaking so that was very cool.
However friends of mine who are mechanics and have changed their brakes did confirm that waiting about an hour and a half was quite long for some brakes. Ill chalk it up to the fact they were busy on that though (also I have a Honda 2013 accord so its not crazy to change the brakes).
In terms of pricing this is where my biggest contention lies:
To change just the front brakes only, no rotors or anything, it costed me $223 and thats with the discount mail I had that took $75 off, so not quite a fan of that, despite the fact that they did do a good job.
But I talked to my friend, who was a tank mechanic in the army, and my dad whos been around a while with well maintained cars, both confirmed my suspensions that that was quite pricey for brakes, of which were ceramic. So I most likely going to head to my friends spot since he said they can do brakes for about 140 or so, and do them right (cant remember who he said, sorry). But I do have a 3 year warranty apparently ( as theyre supposed to last about that long iirc) so thats nice.
So all in all 4/5 because at the end of the day my brakes work well, and of all the things not to cheap out on when I dont know where to go just yet, Ill bite that price. Plus I got a great knowledgeable, in depth look around of my car so I know what to fix now. But I'll most likely goelsewhere due to price and the types of issues found as im an EE student.
Very impressed with the honest and kind mechanics at Gower’s. Infinitely better experience than a Meineke or Jiffy Lube. Great service and communication, they were transparent on what to expect. I have tried out many shops in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, some reasonable ones but found Gower’s to be the best and most trustworthy. Today they changed my 2005 Prius’s oil and fixed a wheel well plastic piece that was making noise when turning. I can imagine running an auto mechanic shop is not easy and lots of overhead costs to consider. I trust what prices they charge are fair and certainly more reasonable than most.
