Erick and his team were amazing to work with start to finish! We interviewed a lot of different flooring contractors and went with Excellent Floors due to their great reviews and Erick’s knowledge about installing our floors, which were reclaimed wood. He was very passionate and explained every little detail of the process before quoting. Our house was getting renovated and we had a couple of delays but Erick and his team were very flexible and easy to coordinate with. Once work started he sent us updates every day with progress pictures which honestly no other contractor has ever done. As a type A person I really appreciated that. After the floors were done he even bought us the proper cleaner and have written directions on how to maintain the floors. Our floors turned out amazing and we are beyond happy we chose Excellent Floors. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat you absolutely will not be disappointed!! Follow Up 4/11/2025: My floors still look amazing and just wanted to add that Erick’s customer support is the best there is, even years after installing my floors. In a world where it can be difficult to gauge if you'll get what you pay for let this review make it easy - yes you will get what you pay for when you go with Erick and his guys at Excellent Floors & Services. Despite a few setbacks on our end, Erick and his team were flexible and professional in finding the right time to do the hardwood flooring installation and re-finishing that we needed, and when we asked for another small service (sanding some stairs), they were able to fit that in as well at a reasonable cost. The floors were covered in carpet and paint with some holes between boards when work started. Now the floors look fantastic thanks to Erick and his team. If we need any flooring work done in the future we'll know who to go with.

Doing a full home gut renovation in Washington, DC, was one of the hardest things my wife and I have ever done. The trades-people we worked with were almost all HORRIFIC to work with BUT, Excellent Floors & Services was one of the rare exceptions. In fact, they were wonderful!! Erick took the time to come out and take measurements of our home, discuss options, listen to our concerns and help us choose the perfect flooring for us. You can really sense the passion he has for what he does and the pride he feels for completing a project in the right way. Erick felt like a teammate from the moment we met him. His estimate, fee, and pay schedule were very fair. He and his team arrived when they said they would, delivering supplies a few days before they started work so the wood would acclimate to the space. He showed multiple finishing options to us to choose from, applying them directly to the floor in little squares to show us exactly how the floor would look. It was really cool and felt extremely personalized. His team was friendly, and worked fast, finishing our entire house in a few days. They took care to treat that house with care, taking their shoes off and carefully cleaning up after work finished. He followed up after the project was complete with ways to care for and maintain our new floors. He even came back to the house (free of charge!), even though it was nothing that they had done incorrectly, to fix a small area that had shifted slightly after things settled. Erick even remembered personal things about our family. The resulting floor is truly amazing and it really gives us a huge amount of joy to look at everyday. I’ll attach photos but remember, Erick and his team can deliver a totally unique flooring depending on the look you want to create! I whole hardheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to have their floor upgraded. I promise you will not be disappointed. When kids, parties, and daily life eventually scuff up this floor enough, Excellent Floors & Services will be my first and only phone call to refinish the floors and keep it looking beautiful for 100+ years.

Erick and his team were a pleasure to work with. My wife and I bought a home and had two weeks to get some renovations done prior to moving in. I called Erick and in less than a week he provided a quote and his team was on site to do the work. We had about 500 sf of floor to sand and finish as well as install flooring in the kitchen and blend areas by the fireplace and entry to match the existing floor. We also did a custom diamond shape in our small vestibule entry. All said and done it took less than a week once started to finish everything and we still had time to get some other work done prior to moving in. I highly recommend Excellent floors and if we have more work in the future will definitely work with them again
