These other reviews, I don’t understand. How does this place stay in business? Is it even real? They auctioned a watch on eBay, which I won. Countless calls never answered. Emails ignored. EBay involved and ignored. Result 3 weeks of wasted time and a full refund. Not sure if they thought eBay would send them the $$ w/o sending the product. Buyers/customers beware!!
I had a terrible experience. If I could rate it a zero I would.
I took a very sentimental 1920’s family mantle clock in to be tuned. It was my husband’s grandmother’s clock & I wanted to surprise him for his birthday.
I was charged $215. I took it back back four times! The first time it wasn’t keeping time. Next, it was chiming 13 chimes for each hour. The third time it wasn’t chiming at all. The fourth time it completely stopped.
Each time I took it in John would say, “It was working when it was here.”
The first time he said he oiled it and added a missing screw on the face. The subsequent times he would NEVER tell me what he did!
I took extreme care transporting it by putting it in a Costco bag & buffering it with a bath towel.
Again, if I could rate it a ZERO I would.
Mostly I've gone in just to replace watch batteries, but recently I inherited an old pocket watch from my father and I took it just to have it assessed. It was so fun talking to John about the watch who knew all the history and showed me the movements inside and pointed out how beautiful they were. Then he convinced me the watch shouldn't be hidden away and took a display case out of his window so I could hang the watch under glass. My dad would really have enjoyed talking to him. I also inherited a very old mantel clock and am planning on taking it in to see if he can get it working. If anyone can it will be him.
