I bought an item online and shipped it to a different FFL, but needed to use their kiosk to complete the transaction. It had been over a decade since I had been to Dad's, so I didn't know what to expect. They were super helpful and I was in and out within 10 minutes. Big thumbs up from me.
In a word? Rude.
I went there earlier today with a set budget and knowledge of what I wanted, which was a Smith & Wesson SD9VE. Walking in, the staff was nice enough, and when they told me they didn't have one in stock, I was totally OK with it. The sales associate then steered me towards a Stoeger STR9, which while a good pistol, has ZERO Level 3 Retention Holster options available. I knew this the moment the sales associate handed me the pistol, but just wanting to see what he'd say, I asked him if there was any Level 3 Retention Holster options available for it, which to be blunt, ANY gun shop with a competent (and by this, I mean someone who actually wants to make a sale and not be lazy) staff would either know or be willing to try to look it up if they didn't. Without missing a beat, he QUICKLY tells me "You'll have to find that on your own." No offer to look up the information, or even a simple answer of 'No,' of which I'd have been om with too.
That was Strike 1.
He asked what my budget was, and I told him flat-out that my budget was $350, which is consistent with what several other stores sell the SD9VE for. He then more or less turned away and said "Yeah, I'm not going to have anything in that price range for you."
That was Strike 2.
And what made me realize this idiot had zero idea what he was doing was when he said "You won't find a Smith & Wesson in that price range."
Strike 3.
In short, I absolutely CANNOT stand arrogant sales associates who think they're dealing with someone they can bowl into buying something that isnt going to meet their needs.
Incidentally, I did indeed find my exact Smith & Wesson at one of their competitors and within my budget.
In conclusion, if you want to buy any kind of firearm, there are PLENTY of gun shops in the area. If you want to deal with a pushy sales staff who assumes everyone walking into their doors is uneducated on firearms, then this is your place.
Rating 1 star only because I can't rate it any less.
Went to pick up my guns everything was good mentioned had a couple sips of alcohol almost 24 hours before and would not let me have my gun ridiculous and everything is way overpriced compared to researching and tacking the time to find the gun you want at the fair price I offered to even take a breathalyzer But I’ll pick them up Monday and I won’t have to worry about this ever happening again because I will never shop there again. I looked at a Smith & Wesson bodyguard for $750 about mine for 450 brand new with built-in red dot laser there’s did not have lasers built in
I had an excellent experience. Brendan helped me purchase a pistol and absolutely crushed it. He was knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. No pressure, no nonsense—just straight answers and solid advice.
Brendan clearly knows his stuff and actually cares about making sure customers leave confident and satisfied. If you’re heading here, ask for Brendan. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for great service.
I love this place! Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to sell a weapon to them and have them order one I wanted to buy that wasn't in stock. Process only took about 3 days.
