I had Consumer Cellular for years and was pleased with their customer service. I don't know what has happened but their service has gone down fast. I got one of their medical alert devices, which is supposed to detect falls. I had 3 hard falls in one night, none were detected. I reported the problem and they said the device was still under warranty so they would send me a new one. One day after I activated the new device, I received a bill for $89. I was told I was charged that because I had not returned the device within 14 days from the day they shipped it. When I was asked why I was cancelling I told them that I had another hard fall, worse than the other 3, with the new device and that fall was not detected either. They said my final bill would be 60 some dollars since it is a post paid service. I said I understood that I would be billed for the previous months bill as well as the full amount of the current billing cycle, though I am only a few days into the current cycle. They said they don't prorate their bills anymore. So I am pay for a month of service for a device that does not do what it is meant to do. For my cell phone plan I had already switched to ATT's over 55 plan which has unlimited data, for just $5 more than the 5GB plan that I was getting from Consumer Cellular (the price included a 5% discount from AARP). Though CC uses the ATT towers in my area, I have fewer dropped calls and dead zones with ATT. I asked ATT about that, and they said it was because basically the 3rd party carriers like Consumer Cellular (and others) essentially get the bandwidth scraps that are left over after their own customers, something that CC does not tell you in their ads.

I took out service, in 2 weeks it was not as good as what I had with my other carrier. I returned all phones and accessories in 14 days which was within the 30 day return policy period. BUT they returned my money but did not show the return with the company and company is billing me $792 for phones I returned. The people in office are very incompetent. I should have realized when it took 2 days to switch service I should have stayed where I was. Big mistake trying to change service and save money!!

Went in with my father to switch 6 lines over. Consumer cellular does not offer a quote sheet past 3 lines but luckily Jeremy (manager) and Mitchell knew there stuff. They made it quick, simple, and painless. Even got my dad enrolled with AARP for more discounts. Jeremy and Mitchell deserve raises for being so knowledgeable and efficient. Highly recommend going to see them and see if they can save you money too!!!

Went in to the new Consumer Cellular store in Evansville, Indiana to find an upgrade to my existing phone. Jesse welcomed us and asked what we were interested in. Told him just looking to just go next level up. So we all talked about some things and there was a phone that was on sale by 1/2 price. Jesse talked to us about it and some new features that mine didn't have. My existing was at 4 years old. So our decision was solely based on not only how much of an upgrade I was getting, but by the knowledge he had on anything you wanted to know and the highly professional and pleasant personality he had. I wish more businesses had an employee like Jesse. Thank you Jesse.
