I usually drop off cardboard. Best to break them down beforehand. If the big container is closed, ask the attendant. They close it because people will throw trash in instead of just cardboard. They also take electronics, yard waste, clean Styrofoam (not packing peanuts), etc. All for free. But they're only open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The weekday hours are 12 pm to 5 pm. Saturday is 7:30 am to 3 pm.
Trash and recycling management is simply about caring for the community and protecting the environment. A Trash recycling operation has zero to do with politics and everything to do with education and professional management. Recycling management should be a top priority of the highest of standards in New Bedford.
Packed my car full of bulk cardboard from moving, checked to make sure they were open, drove all the way there only for some nasty employee to bark at me about how they only take cardboard on Wednesday. The skip was right there, I was all set to unload, I had no intention of requesting help, but they wouldn't let me because of a rule THEY JUST MADE UP, THAT WAS NOWHERE ON THE WEBSITE! Absolutely useless.
A guy driver who collected my trash today was so fresh. He told me that if he can see dust, leaves inside my trash barrel he is going to leave it behind. He dont want to see anything except for trash! If that is going to happen i will call the city hall and file my complain! He wants clean inside and trash is not clean! I don’t even have a trees! He was a white guy sad to say!
I am 63 years old and had my 2 sons help clean out my cellar of 27 years load all up in rented UHaul to take to dump on a Saturday (the only time I can because we all work M-F ) check the website says they’re open till 3 got there a little after 1pm nobody in sight all I heard was crickets ! Long story short rented truck 2extra days and when I arrived Monday ( using my last 8 hours personal time from my job, and by myself till I left told any employee that worked there to tell there office to update website SO BEWARE ….,. IF YOU WANT TO DUMP ANYTHING OVER THE WEEKEND THEY ARE NOT OPEN ! Please update !!
