Chimney Masters

I had Chimney Masters come out recently for a cleaning and inspection. The tech was friendly and did a good job. He recommended installation of a chimney liner based on existing issues from age which I was expecting anyway. We decided to go with them to do the liner installation based on the price being competitive. The crew they sent were all very nice. They went to great lengths to keep everything clean, including creating an area around the fireplace that was closed off with plastic for them to work in, as well as covering everything in our family room in plastic even though it was outside that sealed-off area. Floors were covered from the front door all the way through to the fireplace. When they left you'd have never known they were here. Very impressed about that. They showed detailed photos of the work done and explained what I needed to know. Based on my experience with them I would gladly recommend Chimney Masters to others. Thank you!

Chimney Master’s was fantastic. They called to let me know they were on the way, arrived a little early (unheard of!), and were genuinely so nice. My dog loved the tech immediately—and you should always trust a dog’s judgment of good people. While my fireplaces didn’t pass inspection, the technician was incredibly thorough, explaining everything clearly as he went and making sure I understood what was going on. No pressure, just honest and helpful. They also only charged me for the services that were actually done, even though I had been quoted higher. I would absolutely recommend them.

Peter came by to inspect both our chimneys. We heard loud rattling noises when we had gusty wind last week. He said that the flue caps are loose mortar was cracked. He email the estimates for both chimney to remove and replace cracked mortar, replace flue caps with stainless steel flue caps, and an vented aluminum sheet cover to keep critters from getting into the chimney but also some ventilation. Freddy and crew came by two days later to do work on the mortar on both chimneys. They placed plastic sheet around the chimney so the mortar would dry. The next day Freddy came back to remove the plastic sheet, put on the new flue caps, and finished any remaining work. Chimney Masters keep in constant communication with estimates and time of arrival. We are satisfied with the work so far. Only time will tell but the staff and crew were very pleasant and professional. We will likely use them again for future work.

I hired Master Chimney to repair my leaking chimney, but the experience has been extremely disappointing. The representative, Peter, charged me a very high price for the work, promising that several items would be replaced and that I would receive pictures of the repairs since I cannot access the roof myself. None of that was done. My chimney is still leaking. Peter also promised to return to inspect the work, but he never showed up or even called—I had to reach out to them myself. On top of that, I was asked to sign paperwork on a laptop without being given a proper chance to review it, which I regret. Overall, the job was not completed as promised, communication was poor, and I was overcharged for work that did not fix the problem. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend Master Chimney. I will be filing a complaint with the Maryland home improvement commission.
