Always ask for the cost upfront. Had i known what i found out, i would have taken my business elsewhere. I've been in the upholstery business since 1979. Having said that i understand completely what the job of sewing two pcs of vynle together entails. I recently had this company do a small job of this sort. In order to not take up any more of thier time than necessary and to keep the cost down i had prepared the job doing all the necessary work ahead of time for them. Pcs cut , line-up marks etc....all they had to do was lay it on the machine, sew two seams approx 30" long and topstitch them. A small, easy job with everything done in advance for them. I didn't ask for a price when i left it with them and to my fault. In my shop i would have given the customer the job and told them to come back if they needed anything else and would have gained a new customer, and several referrals. They charged me $125, or an hour labor. It was at most a 5-10 minute job with no material cost other than a pc of thread about ten feet long. I would have gladly paid a fair price and even given a tip for getting it done so quickly. $125 for this little job. Sewing two seams on a 4-wheeler seat cover. I can't imagine what they would have charged to reupholster the seat/ do the whole job. I ran a lucrative business for over forty years so i am aware of what it cost him and never once had to rob anyone. Beware of this business. Shop around and get a price to compare with before doing business with these folks, i got robbed.
Usually you can only choose between 2 of the 3: “Cheap”, Fast, Good…Buckeye managed to deliver on all 3 fronts. They have my recommendation. Had a headliner from a 90s truck redone and they did a great job.
