Bird man
They say to never judge a book by its cover. In this case I would say It’s more than safe to do so. First time they rebuilt my transmission it lasted 20 miles. The second time it was rebuilt it lasted 70 miles. The third time they rebuilt it it lasted 700 miles. The (4th time) it took a month for them to get it in the shop because they kept on putting everyone else in front of me. I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved in order for them to get working on it. That transmission lasted 20,000 miles. The last time they rebuilt it I was told by Todd to never bring my truck back to him. (that’s just plain old-fashioned good southern Customer Service) When shopping him with a competitor down the road, he quoted me $4,600-. The competitor was quoting me $8,000. He swore to me that he was putting in all the upgraded parts as his competitor was quoting me. The competitor told me there’s no way possible he could do it for that price. The parts alone were way over $4600..Come to find out when another local shop tore my transmission down nothing was upgraded inside my transmission as he swore to me, he did. As a matter of fact, most the parts were original and weren’t new. He flat out, lied to me to get my business. So here I am spending $10k to have it done all over again from another shop with the right parts because he took all the short cuts. Do I feel cheated and taken advantage of? Yes. Yes, he is the cheapest guy in town. But understand if it sounds too good to be true. It usually is. He’s the cheapest guy in town for a reason. if his reputation was that good he wouldnt lowball every job that came through that door. He wouldn’t have to.You’re getting what you pay for with this guy. Use your hard earned money to get a quality transmission from a reputable shop.
