Back in December 2024 I had my gas valve replaced by Black-Haak. They came out right away with many notifications, got the job done without issue, and they offered me a free cleaning. I took them up on the free cleaning a year later in December 2025. The same technician was back again, she said it was fine at the moment but noticed a potential crack inside that could cause me issues in the future. Now March 2026 I noticed that the furnace did not prove ignition a few times so I went to look inside the panel and noticed that this black rubber gasket was not it the place. The flame inside was very orange and when I would push the gasket against the hole it would go back to a nice blue flame. So I called Black-Haak to let them know that the technician had accidentally left this gasket out. The receptionist told me that it would be $99 to get someone out there to fix this. I told her the situation again and explained that the technician had left the gasket out when they did either the gas valve or the cleaning. No one else had ever touched the unit. If this was work that I had done but not finished, I would run right over and get it done. Unfortunately this receptionist instead told me that it was not under warranty. I put the gasket back where it should have been myself and now I will be looking for a HVAC contractor with integrity.
