The service tech herself was knowledgeable and performed the job well. The process of this place is lacking for working people. Their windows of arrival are 4 hours, which is normal, but they give you 10 minutes to call them back if you miss their call or they reschedule you. That is almost impossible for anyone who works. I called them 14 minutes later instead of 10 and they rescheduled me a week later. Starting at the beginning, we were told the repair would happen in 4 to 14 business days. On the 15th business day, I had to call THEM for an update. They told me they were waiting for a part number. When I asked if anyone had followed up for the part number since the first day it was asked for, 15 business days prior, the person I was speaking with could not verify that any follow up had occurred.
When our oven stopped working, we made a few calls for repair service on our unusual brand (Cosmo) stove. All Star handled our call in a polite and professional manner and set up an appointment. Repairman Will diagnosed a broken igniter. The part had to be ordered and would take a couple of weeks to arrive.
I was very impressed later when I called to check on the status of our order. I didn't have to provide an address or dates or anything; the operator knew by my phone number who I was and what I was calling about, and she answered my question. THAT is great customer service.
After the part arrived and we got a repair appointment, Will came back and, with speed and courtesy, replaced the igniter and tested the oven. It was painless, and now we're back to baking cookies. Thanks!
We scheduled our dryer for a repairman through our warranty for this afternoon. This morning, Garrison gives me a call to tell me their morning appointment cancelled, could they arrive early? I really appreciated both the consideration and the urgency. When Garrison got here, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Knew exactly which were the likely culprits. Fixed us right up. Great person, great service. Would recommend them in a second.
I gave this company 2 stars for the simple fact that their technicians are extremely nice.
So our washer quit working. We filed a home warranty claim and All Star Appliance Repair is who the warranty company chose. The technician came out and accessed the washer, decided it was the mother board that needed to be replaced. He put in the order for the part and 2 weeks later was back out to fix the washer. In doing so, the technician broke our built in enclosure and when he left he had a cycle running on the washer. Within 5 minutes of the technician leaving the washer stopped working and produced an error code. I immediately called them to let them know and asked if the technician could come back out to see what it was doing since he probably wasn’t too far away. I also let the lady know that he broke our enclosure. She told me that she could book an appointment for the next week as the technician was all booked and he agreed to be double booked to get us in the next week. The day of the new appointment I received a call saying they needed to cancel my appointment because a senior technician needed to come out and access the damage that was done. I asked her when that would be and she said she would need to call me back because she didn’t have the senior technician schedule and needed to discuss it with him. So now we are 3 weeks later with no working washing machine and many many dollars spent at the laundromat. 2 days pass and we receive a call that a senior technician can come out the next week, which will put us at 4 weeks with no washer.
At our scheduled appointment the senior technician showed up and looked over everything and agreed to pay to replace the boards that were broken. The other technician showed up so they could work on the repair of the washer. The senior technician discovered that when the other technician put in the mother board he forgot to flip a switch for the water sensor. Now that the technician been able to come back that day and realize his mistake, we could’ve avoided another week and 1/2 of having to spend more money at the laundromat and would’ve had a working washer. My husband called the main office and that lady was 100% rude and said she had no control over what the technicians do and don’t do and that their technicians don’t have that time to sit through a whole washer cycle to make sure something is working once parts are replaced. Now in my opinion, that should be part of the technicians job, to actually sit and wait to make sure their job was done correctly and the appliance is fully repaired before leaving the customers house.
If you have a choice in which company you use to repair your appliances, I would NOT recommend this one.
*One other good thing to note is that they did send me a check to cover the damages the technician caused.
