Admiral Plumbing Heating and Cooling

I originally called plumbers for temperature fluctuations in a basement shower. Through that experience I discovered a leaking water heater among other issues. It was easy to be frustrated and overwhelmed and in the end, I received 6 bids. To understand the experience with Matt requires understanding of the other bids. Ranging from expensive to ridiculous, the bids were of various quality and time to receive. All roughly suggested similar fixes, though it was clear that some were just trying to scare me into more money. One contractor came back a second time and doubled his price after his “supervisor” reviewed it. Matt was the last bid. Adam, from Admiral, called me and said that I’d have to wait an extra day for it, but only because he had to send his expert (Matt). I was hesitant and almost cancelled after so many, but I ended up sticking with it. Matt, from a bid perspective, was a breath of fresh air. He didn’t use scare tactics. He clearly showed his expertise. He had photos of other installs and helped by recommending against what others suggested. He simplified the decision process, answered all of my questions, and was patient. He quoted a reasonable price and when I received the bid and had questions, he texted and called. He wasn’t the lowest price but he got me as close to my requested price as he could. I decided to replace two 40 gallon water heaters with a tankless water heater, water softener, softener loop, and new pressure release valve (plus a new cartridge for the shower that started it all). Once I selected him, we arranged for the install 2 business days later. He was a few minutes late, but texted me before that he would be and his apprentice was here on time working anyway. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and showed me what they were doing. It turns out that one of my old water heaters could have split at any time. My old pressure release valve was leaking. Matt and his apprentice got it all fixed. In all he was here about 6 hours. They cleaned up everything, and I got a detailed walkthrough with instructions and explanations regarding everything they did to ensure the install was better than code. More than anything else, though, it’s clear that Matt had integrity, is an expert, and was just a fantastic guy. I feel like I met every plumber in the valley. I’ll go back to Matt every time from here on out. A true rock star.
