Absolute Predatory Pricing – Avoid Adam Chimney Sweep at All Costs I had a deeply unprofessional and suspicious experience with Adam Chimney Sweep. I called them to replace the glass on my gas fireplace, and a technician named Zak arrived completely empty-handed, without a single tool in sight. After merely noting the make and model, he demanded a $99 "inspection fee" for two minutes of work. The situation turned from unprofessional to predatory when he followed up with a quote. Zak claimed an aftermarket glass would cost $1,200, and an OEM (original) glass would be $2,300. Trusting my gut, I called a local competitor, The Fireplace Store, for a second opinion. They quoted me $350 for the exact same original glass. Adam Chimney Sweep attempted to markup a standard part by nearly 700%. This isn't just "expensive"; it’s a scam designed to exploit homeowners. I lost $99 to this company, but I’m sharing this so you don’t lose thousands. Always check reviews and get a second quote—stay far away from these ruthless scammers. PS : This company does not believe in giving any kind of receipts either. Will make sure to report these scammers to BBB and Colorado attorney general.
