Picking up a salt load with my big rig and taking it to California. All of the staff and forklift driver was very nice and and professional. They have 1 dock and will load quickly. I wouldn’t mind working with them directly, they are so great! Thank you for my job easy and hope to be back soon!
Their de-ice products are amazing!!! I need my driveway snow and ice free for a huge Christmas delivery tomorrow. Will be a 1,000 pound delivery. I had it same day and it worked amazing!!! The Chief operating officer even deliver the product to me in a snow storm! Love this company. Thank you!!!
Step Saver is a great company! From office staff to drivers, everyone is friendly and very considerate. They care about their customers and employees, and do what it takes to make sure everyone is well taken care of. Management is very considerate of the needs of their employees. They go above and beyond to ensure the happiness of everyone. The atmosphere is very uplifting and friendly. This company is phenomenal!
This company runs in illegal and directly from the owners to the staff. The owners will rip you off more times than you can count to make as much money for themselves as they can. This review is a warning to all drivers do not employ yourself here for any reason!!!!! save yourself and apply elsewhere. They promis the world and give you enough to be homeless especially as a driver! They are dishonest and do not stick to their word!
Review for transportation driver.
Good, laid back work environment if you don’t have bills to pay.
With average runs you average around .23-.27 cents per mile. Absolutely ridiculous. I brought this up to the owner and his response was that it’s paid % per load not hourly or mileage. He refused to comprehend that the % pay equaled to that or the equivalent of working at McDonald’s. Heck, In and out burger pays more per hour. The owner assured me that he was going to take care of me because he could see I was a good driver and took care of the trucks and customers. After a month or 2 of complaining about the pay they put me on a dedicated run. They later referred to this as “doing favors” for me. Although there was no “favor” about it. They can’t keep drivers because once they get a pay check and see how horrible it is, they’re out.
That run ended up averaging .44cents per mile (yes I’m figuring it that way rather than % per load) and the problem with it was that the back haul did not constantly need their load.
After 4 months I was averaging 50k working 16 hours a day, typically 4 days a week. I would notify dispatch on Monday that I could run local the following Friday and come Friday he would have nothing for me.
My last conversation with the owner (bill) was me complaining about the pay again and him telling me that he’s done me favors, he’s paying me good and it is what it is.
The turnover rate is off the hook, obviously because of what I’ve stated above. They do not value their drivers. They don’t realize that retention is more valuable than turn over rate and have no problem replacing you with all their empty promises to new drivers.
I highly recommend staying away from this company if you’re an experienced driver and value a paycheck.
If you’re retired and just want something kick back... then maybe give them a shot!
Oh and good luck getting the detention pay they claim you get after 2.5 hours of waiting.
