I own a 30-year old Threshold T100 Class A stereo amplifier. Needed to upgrade the power supply as my amp developed a hum. Silent Audio took me in quickly and replaced the caps with Nichicon 33,000mcf caps and also upgraded the bridge rectifiers and vacuum-sealed my noisy transformer with resin. To reduce the hum even further, he installed a primary winding full wave bridge rectifier. Amp is now as quiet as a church mouse. Also they installed a new red power led. Service was quick and professional. I don’t believe they exaggerate their abilities as so many other people will do just to earn a dollar or two. You can trust him to be honest with... Also, he used a FLIR camera to make sure the amp’s rail bias was set properly.
Augie repaired an old AKG D-12 microphone I’ve had for years. It would pass a signal but just sounded bad. I’ve read that the D-12 is considered one of the best kick drum mics in the world when in good working shape. The problem is that the mic has been discontinued for decades and there are no spare parts available any more. Apparently there’s one guy in Switzerland who repairs them. Well Augie dug in and did the painstaking and exacting work to put mine right. It’s never sounded better. Augie can fix any electronic audio gear. I’m very impressed.
