Nick came out to give us a quote on replacing our 20-year-old water heater, and the experience was excellent from the start. I had quite a few questions, and he was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional. What really stood out was that he genuinely cared about us getting the right replacement—even mentioning that if we chose a different company, his main concern was that we ended up with a quality water heater. The very next day, Dan came out to remove the old unit and install the new one. He worked quickly, efficiently, and did a great job with the installation. On top of that, he took the time to point out that our HVAC filter was overdue for replacement, which we really appreciated. Overall, the entire experience was smooth, honest, and professional. Highly recommend!
We would highly recommend Reimer for furnace diagnostic and replacement!
For context, while at work, I received an alert from our thermostat that our furnace was not able to heat our home. I immediately went home to see that it was in fact the case, and upon attempting to restart the furnace, it would not stay on.
The company we had a contract with was unable to come out right that day, but Reimer was able to show up within 45 minutes of putting a call in.
Joe S. was our technician, and he was courteous, efficient, and responsive. I explained to him all our recent problems, and he listened, responded, and then began investigating.
Unfortunately, our furnace (25+ years old) had two blown parts that were expensive and not local, so the repair process did not make sense in terms of speed and pricing.
Joe explained that, although more expensive than repairs, a new furnace would be quicker to install and get setup versus waiting for the parts to arrive. Additionally, it would be more efficient than our current furnace, and save us money in the long run.
We went with the new installation route, and Joe walked us through all the newer models similar to the one we previously had, along with the pros of each one. He did not push us for the more expensive ones, and he even called his manager to help work down the price. Even if this may seem like a sales tactic, we were in no place to bargain, seeing that we needed heat in our home (baby in the house), so helping bring down the price with any discounts was generous whichever way you look at it.
With it being a new furnace installation, Reimer was able to get installers out there the next day by 9am.
I got a call at 8:30am the next day letting me know that the team was on their way and would be there by 9am. Jeff + Dan got to work immediately, removing the old furnace, getting the new one installed, setting up new required ventilation, duct work, and code standards (shut off valve for gas, new pump, etc). They were professional, tidy, and were working the entire time (~6 hours).
All in all to say, in less than 24 hours from calling Reimer, we were able to see the problem our furnace had, saw the issues in replacing those parts, took a look at new furnaces, and got it installed and heating our home. If that’s not efficient, I don’t know what is (especially considering two other companies we called were only able to send a technician out the next day at the earliest for investigation).
Again, I would highly recommend Reimer. Sure, was the furnace more than I wanted to spend? Yes. But that’s just unfortunately the situation of getting something when you really need it. At the end of the day, that’s on me. But outside of the price, the Reimer team was excellent.
I highly encourage reaching out to them for you furnace needs before it goes on you (preferably not in the dead of winter during one of the coldest weeks of the year). If you are in that situation, Reimer is the way to go!
If I could give less Stars I would. A couple of weeks ago my wife and I noticed our boiler was not working well. We were pretty sure of the problem but couldn't do the fix ourselves. We reached out to this company for a service call and the guy came and we believed what he said. He claimed that we needed a new pump to circulate the water throughout the house. He said that the ventilation was a problem and wouldn't fix the pump until the ventilation issue was fixed. Basically something was wrong with our chimney I guess. However we contacted somebody else and they replaced the aquastat relay and the boiler started working fine. He also checked to make sure that it was ventilating properly and everything was back to normal. He wanted to do all this extra work and it was going to cost over $6,000. We ended up paying $540 to fix the problem. I'm not sure if the guy was unintelligent or what the problem was but I heard that company tries to upsell and take advantage of people. I would not recommend them.
