Matt and his team were the absolute best and we will definitely be working with them again! My husband and I hired a contractor to build a patio where there was a partial hill, and without our permission, his crew -rather than removing the soil, which is rocky, clay soil - used machinery to drive through (and kill) fully matured trees to deposit nearly 5 feet of soil and rocks onto the roots of a 75 foot tree - then compacted that soil. The large tree began to rot within a couple of weeks. We reached out to Mountaineer Land Solutions to save the tree and remove the immense amount of soil that was suffocating it. We found Matt and his crew to be incredibly knowledgeable and worked really, really hard to save our large tree - this included removing a great deal of soil and boulders by hand over the course of 3 days in order to prevent further damage to the tree. He also gave us recommendations to support the tree’s recovery over the subsequent months. Beyond that, Matt and his crew were kind, courteous, and trustworthy. Matt’s passion for what he does really shines through and we will be working with him on future projects.

I got 4 quotes to trim one tree and remove another one. Mountaineer was the most affordable, and the most professional and transparent from the start. Matthew gave me a rough ballpark based off a photo, then Dylan and their arborist ( I'm so sorry I forgot your name! ) came to give me the final estimate. It only got better from there. When the crew came out to do the job, they were professional and great. The tree to be removed was right in front of my home office, so I got to see some of their work. Beforehand, they were walking me through the plan, including where the tree was going to fall. Sure enough, the tree fell exactly where they planned. I was particularly impressed and grateful they set up a plywood barrier between the house and the stump before they started grinding it down to protect my windows. If it wasn't for the fact that I couldn't grow grass near that tree, you would never know there was a tree there or that it had been removed. They were that thorough with the removal, grinding, and clean up. I'll be using Mountaineer again.
