This looks fake. Period. It is marketed as holographic and high tech, but in real life it is just a flat flame video behind plastic logs. The flames repeat, have no depth, and do not interact with the logs in a believable way. Once you notice it, you cannot unsee it. The angled glass creates constant reflections in normal room lighting, which makes the flames look even more artificial. Instead of watching a fire, you end up noticing glare and reflections on the glass. For over $3,000, this is a terrible value. Cheaper electric fireplaces look just as convincing, and some look better because they do not have the same reflection issue. The novelty wears off quickly and what is left is an expensive visual gimmick. I regret buying this and would not recommend it. See one running in a real home with the lights on before spending this kind of money!

We spent quite a bit of time researching online to purchase an electric fireplace with a realistic flame and ease of operation. The Magikflame arrived as advertised in 3 boxes on a pallet and the mantle was fairly easy to put together. Took a little while but the mantle is beautiful, well constructed, and a very nice piece of furniture. The fireplace itself has been a disappointment. It's a little difficult to operate as there is no one button operation. We need the touch screen and remote to operate. We put this fireplace in our bedroom and this unit does not offer a good side view. You can also always see the piece of angled glass and the picture of the flames looks like it is in the back of the fireplace. You do get a more realistic view from the 8 to 10 feet back but that is not the normal viewing for us. It looks like you are watching a fire on TV and not a real fireplace for us. If we could have viewed one in person, we would not have purchased. Magikflame does offer a return policy but you have to pay the expensive freight and a 20% restocking charge to return and be sure you return all the boxes, packing materials, manuals, etc in excellent condition for a full refund. We are hoping the fireplace will grow on us and we will like it more as time goes on. As Magikflame states, their fireplaces are not for everyone. Please read all the info and be aware of what you are purchasing.
