Another great service by the people at Hellas. They replaced a faulty outside sensor on our Trane unit. They are THE ONLY competent company we’ve found in the area who know how to service our heat pumps - we’d be lost without them!! Their technicians are amazing as is their office support staff who set up the appointments. We’ve never had to wait more the a few days for anything - including installing an entire new system the end of last summer. We’ll never use anyone else.

I had a full installation of Carrier central unit (over $18k) and within 3 years of the installation there was a fire where the main line connects to new unit line. The lug connector had the problem where the new unit connected their wire. The wire that it was installed for the unit got burn and it got disconnected apart from the connector. The main wire did not got disconnected from the unit but it suffer burn of the isolation so it had to be replace. The installation of this unit was the connector and beyond into the unit so it was a bad installation. There are two cases where a wire will burn/over heated; if the wire has the wrong gauge or the installation is not good. I am not sure how bad is the vibration at that specific location. For more than 10 years I had no issue with the older unit regarding fires. I am glad this issue did not started a big fire. Hellas Air TEMP inc only provides 1 year installation warranty. I called and I was told that evaluation of the unit cost around $210 but if I decided to performed the work, the evaluation will go to the first hour of the fix. When the first technician came to evaluated the problem he did not have the parts to change the wire nor the connector. The second technician show up made the installation in 30 mins and told me is an hour because he had to get parts and time to get to my unit. It is interesting that wire and connectors are not standard material for the company. The second technician gave me a bill of two hours and parts of around $526. He said that evaluation of the issue is separately from the fix. Also, I'm pointing out the two technicians were not the same people who installed the unit. I do not recommend Hellas Air Temp Inc to installed new units if the installation is not guaranteed. Also, the miss information when I called to receive the service. I will not use their services in the future.
