Our heat pump went out and I called Hansberger. I was greeted by a friendly voice with a prompt set up with a technician to diagnose the problem. The system was old and needed to be replaced. Mike, a sales representative, came out with reasonable solution. He, too, was very friendly, but most importantly, extremely knowledgeable. He had a crew to our home, a new system installed and working in no time at all. Because the system was on the roof, the job required a crane service. The installers were polite, clean and respectful of our personal property. We are satisfied customers with our new Lennox system.
Let me preface the comments that I'm going to share. Having been a General Contractor and being involved in all aspects of construction close to fifty years, I'M PICKY. The job turned out looking good and doing what it's supposed to do. The gentlemen that performed the work were pleasant and respectful. The estimator that I worked with and who also coordinated the work was very professional and satisfied all of my requirements and questions. The most outstanding aspect of the job was that I contacted the company one day for a quote, which I accepted, and the work was completed by 2:30 the next day. I was extremely pleased that they could... Let me preface the comments that I'm going to share. I was extremely pleased that they could get to my job that quickly. Considering the scope of the work, in my opinion, the workers were fairly efficient. I would recommend their services and the timely manner in which the work was done but expect to pay, perhaps, a little more than another company might charge.
Update to my initial review. The installers were instructed to properly seal around old duct work and mounting brackets that were removed from the roof and they failed to do it. I had a major leak the first time that it rained. The installation supervisor blamed it on previous repair, but the pictures that I took when I had to get on the roof myself show that no attempt was made to seal the areas. They also used wood decking screws to secure flashing which aren't designed to hold or seal metal. I had to seal it myself when I found it because it was going to rain again. After I sealed the areas there were no more leaks when it rained the same... Update to my initial review. The owner eventually sent someone out to add another layer to the area, but the installation supervisor should have seen it and corrected it immediately. Their website also talks about being family owned since the beginning and lists Mark Hansberger as still owning the company. That isn't true as it was transferred to someone else. We had a new hvac unit installed. Ivan and Ruben started early, had the old ac apart and prep for the new unit on the roof done in 2 hours. New unit was running less than 6 hours from the time that they started. I've had many issues with other contractors before with substandard work, so I was worried about the process. They did everything beyond what I expected with some difficult circumstances and did everything that I asked with great detail. Very professional in their work and attitude.
