Changed ownership but still the best neighborhood car repair shop. Had nearly the whole exhaust system replaced. Fair prices and done in a timely manner. Had them do the rear brakes and a new battery too.

Griswolds is the only place I take my vehicles to. They are always honest with prices, Jacob is excellent with communication, and the quality of work Pete does is top notch. Easy 5 stars.
The next best thing to not having your starter choose to fry itself in -16⁰ temperatures is getting it fixed and having it not cost 900 bucks to get it fixed. Since I was having AAA tow my car, I needed SOME idea what it would cost, so I could tell the guy WHERE to tow my car. Called around to a few trustworthy-ish places. The only one that would even wild-guess it for me over the phone was Griswold. They asked if I needed an OEM starter (hahahaha, no) and once they knew what the part would cost, got me within $100 of my all-in cost. Everybody else was playing "oh we totally have to see the car before we'd have ANY IDEA what it would cost you." This attitude, even though they know what their parts price will be and know what book rate is for literally any repair, is why people hate taking their car to the shop. They know that once your dead beast of a vehicle is in their bay, they got you. Have not encountered that nonsense with Griswold, even though it changed hands a while back. They fix what needs fixing without the constant upsell you get at other places. I would rather have a car that starts AND have my $453 still in my pocket, but I now have a functioning vehicle, completed same day, and life is normal again, for small values of normal.
Skilled techs, professional, pleasing customer service, honesty, integrity - you'll find all of these at Griswold. Thanks, Sam and Jacob, for doing business the right way. It earns trust and loyalty! Just one example - we were experiencing a transmission issue with our Subaru Crosstrek and brought it in for assessment. The tech identified the issue and went the extra steps to determine that Subarua had issued a service bulletin and that the dealer would be able to offer an extended 100k mile warranty on the issue. They gave us all the information and codes and encouraged us to to take it in to the Subaru dealer so that we would not be charged for the repair. That's honesty and integrity in living proof. We will keep coming here for service - and refer all our family and friends!
