Its sad we have to have a "Pound" in Frederick but I'm so glad we do. I recently found a batch of kittens that were orphaned and instead of them becoming Feral, I took them to the pound and the staff "after hours" were great. I'm confident the 5 little ones will be homes quickly, if not already. Good luck with the remodel

I agree with people who have commented on the lack of friendliness here.I haven't ever tried to adopt from this shelter, but I dropped off two large bags of dog food, a bag of dog toys, and some dog coats. I also had an entire bag full of bandannas. They said they didn't want the bandannas and pretty much just shrugged about everything else. When I asked about leaving a cash donation, they just pointed to a box and said that somebody would empty it later. I didn't expect to be treated like a hero, but a simple thank-you you would've been nice. Instead, they acted as if I were a nuisance.

We adopted a rabbit recently and this was Our first ever per adoption experience as well as first time rabbit ownership. Staff was amazingly friendly courteous and knowledgeable. We are so thankful for their kindness and patience with us as well as communication and efficiency with handling everything. ❤️

Very helpful and caring staff. Our cat friend Olive, a very shy rescue, had jumped from our balcony one night and went to camp at a nearby conference center campus. FCAC were very friendly and reassuring. We borrowed a HaveaHeart trap and received full instructions on it's safe and effective deployment. It took the full two weeks to gradually coax her into the trap but she is home now and, apart from a very reluctant visit with our veterinary, seems very happy to be back with us. She is purring on my lap as I write this.
