TLDR: mechanic did not do the job correctly and took forever. Brought my 2001 Hyundai Elantra in to get my alternator and steering belts replaced as they were squeeking and slipping, this took nearly four and a half hours to get done. when I originally pulled out everything was fine till the next morning where the belts began to squeak again I called and was told to give them a week and quote "I torqued everything to factory spec". My alternator belt ended up blowing up when I was driving which then caused the radiator to overflow. I got it towed to my house and had a buddy help me with it. Turns out the altinator which doubles as the tensioner was NOT set to factory torque and caused the belt to slip then blow up. With his tools we were able to get the belt replaced in under 45 minutes with me blinding him with a light for fun. Spent roughly 200 for the original services in labor alone as I brought my own belts
